RHuff Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 This may sound crazy but a few months ago I decided to try something new for this year. I organized a 3 ring binder into sections such as time of year, type of cover, types of baits, etc. and every time I watch an online seminar or instructional video I take notes and put them into the collection. The amount of information I have gained since doing this is mind-boggling. 2 Quote
Brayberry Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 I do something similar. I have around 20 3 ring binders, that are labeled by lure (Crankbaits, Spinnerbaits, Jigs, etc), Season (Prespawn, Spawn, Summer, Fall, etc), Locations (Lakes within 500 miles of me, I either go to or want to go to, Tournament Results, etc) and Misc (Lure Modifications, Techniques, Organization, etc). Everytime I read a magazine, I'll cut out the "good" articles to organize into my binders, same with online articles or forum post. I have years worth of stuff in each one. Each binder is now around 4 inches think, and now some have a Part 1, Part 2, etc. At any time I can refer to each one for any info I may need on any subject. To me these are worth their weight in gold. Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted February 5, 2017 Super User Posted February 5, 2017 I keep a fishing journal. If nothing else, it's good to look back at the season and see what worked and what didn't. 1 Quote
