Off Topic, but I've rebuilt several of these.  Often, I find a donor reel on eBay.  Are there any parts broken, or is it just in several pieces you can't reassemble?

I threw it away to keep myself from being tempted to try to reuse it. I kicked myself later, but if I still had it I'd try to use it and it would fail on me. I tried to put it back together for a couple days and the gears would not mesh anymore though it looked like it was back together correctly. You could hear it clicking and anti reverse was starting to fail before this. It was one of the last ones with a pushbutton spool release. Looked just like this. I caught more bass on that reel than I can count. Good times.

One of my favorite Daiwa reels:

;)

The only thing it needed were some Carbontex drag pads and then it became the reel it was meant to be ( the original drag sucked badly ! :tsk-tsk: )

I have thus far resisted dress-up parts, but those lime knobs are really calling to me.

I like those knobs too but in red, do the sell only knobs or have to buy whole handle?

Rcbs and a lot of other people sell knobs.  Check out hedgehog studios and ebay.  The tackle trap has knobs to.
