bma3 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Best Brand/Style? Size of hook? How do I work it properly in both warm and cold water? Best colors for clear/murky water? Would I just follow my general knowledge or is it different for these baits? Any other advice!? Thanks! Quote
Gillroid 9000 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 So heres the nail in the coffin to your answer... 1.Zoom Super salty Fluke 2. 3/0 4/0 Gama,Eagle,Trokar ETC EWG Offset hooks, Weighted and Unweighted swimbait hooks work too. 3. The fluke is best for Warmer seasons and best fished in Mid summer. I would use the Jerk Jerk Pause Method. Cast your lure far away as you can then Let it sink for 3-5 Secs, then Jerk it 2-4 Times. Then let it fall again(This part is the where you will get hits on) So generally Work it like a Hard Jerkbait(X-Raps,Ito Visons ETC). 4. For clear water use the colors try Pearl White,Baby Bass,Bluegill and Arkansas Shiner. For Murky water Try Green Pumpkin,Any color that has a Chartreuse Tail and June bug. 5.Advice. Go out there when things get warmed up and try it out and have a good time:) 1 Quote

lo n slo Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 if you fish alotta old docks and boat houses, like me, fling a weightless superfluke jr. in your favorite color right up against the structures and old "legs", let it sink til you cant stand it no more. twitch it back to the boat. try shallow and deep til the fish tell you what they want. be a line watcher. dont forget the rip rap either. edit: i like to throw these on spinning gear using mono, 12 lb trilene xl and an ewg hook. my favorite time is post spawn (when the fry have moved off the banks) and fall. ethan-333 Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 love throwing a white fluke above grass early in the year. get a ton of reaction bites and a lot of good fish. i typically fish it weightless. but have thrown it on a shakeyhead with pretty good results. flukes pretty much slide across the water. and so with a baitcaster its super easy to skip up under docks in the heat of the summer and catch some giants i usually rig mine on a gammmy 5/0 ewg Quote
