Super User Paul Roberts Posted February 1, 2017 Super User Posted February 1, 2017 Advice on quality 2pc spinning rods out there? I'm aware of the St Croix's. Others? Quote
DaveT63 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 I have no experience with anything but St Croix. But I can attest to the quality of them. I have a Triumph, Premier, and 2 Legend Elite 2-pc rods. I can't tell the difference between them and a comparable St Croix one-piece, even at the bottom line Triumph level. 2 Quote
Super User fishnkamp Posted February 1, 2017 Super User Posted February 1, 2017 First what is your budget? What do you want the rod to do? There are some other companies like G Loomis on the upper end and some Abu Garcia Veritas and Vendetta on the more moderate end of the spectrum. 1 Quote
EastCoastAngler Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 ^x2 a good friend of mine relies heavily on his 2pc Abu Garcia Veritas 2.0 spinning rod. He bought it in medium power fast action and he says it fishes slightly heavier than a "true" medium rod. But he throws everything from weightless worms and dropshots to 1/2 ounce jigs and chatterbaits on it. 1 Quote
Super User NYWayfarer Posted February 1, 2017 Super User Posted February 1, 2017 Fenwick makes nice 2 piece rods. I recently bought a Daiwa Crossfire 2 piece rod and it is outstanding quality for a low cost rod. 2 hours ago, DaveT63 said: I have no experience with anything but St Croix. My Triumph 2 piece is a great rod, better than a lot of my 1 piece rods. Quote
