freelancer27 Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Hi guys, I have been using a 20USD Hip Bag for the last 2 years and while it was ok it is slowly getting to the end of its life and I want to replace it that offers more functionality and quality. What I am basically looking for is a hip bag where I can get 2 3500 utility boxes in and still have plenty of space for other stuff (bottle pouch, etc). The two that I like so far are these:DEPS TARPAULIN HIP BAG and G4 PRO® HIP PACK I am wondering if you guys have experience with any of those bags and/or have recommendations for similar ones. Thank ya much! Quote
THE_Vue's Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 I had a Plano and might be switching to the Daiwa emaralds older model shoulder bag but these new ones look very nice. 1 Quote
freelancer27 Posted January 30, 2017 Author Posted January 30, 2017 I am tending to go with the Simms, though twice as expensive. It really looks like a quality product. What I have not found out though is how many plano boxes (of what size) I can get into it. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted January 30, 2017 Super User Posted January 30, 2017 I bought a White River (similar to Fish Ponds bags) pack at Bass Pro around 8 years ago for $40, and it's still kicking strong. Has everything that Simms bag does, except it doesn't say Simms on it. You're only going to be able to fit 2-3 small boxes. 1 Quote

They don't have the exact same ones anymore, though this should get you started. I have a chest pack and waist pack. I don't think the chest pack style would be big enough. I basically keep shot, hooks, a few flies and beads in it. The bigger pack could hold some bass gear. http://www.basspro.com/Fishing-Fly-Fishing-Fly-Fishing-Accessories-Vests-Packs/_/N-1z0uiei 1 Quote
freelancer27 Posted February 1, 2017 Author Posted February 1, 2017 I went with the Deps. Should be here in a couple of days. Will do a quick report on it once I tested it. Quote
