I haven't seen it but THAT doesn't surprise me in the least!  When he's on it, he's hard to beat.

Especially when theyre bitin a swim jig.

felt bad for James Watson not making the cut on Saturday. he always provides some amusement. Did they change the select rounds where the winner no longer automatically advances?  also got a new face Brandon Polanuik. He should be good competition.

Ol Mr. Watson seemed a bit more serious this time...not as many jokes.  Brandon definitely brings on a new view.

Caught up on the first two episodes yesterday. It was funny how in week one only a couple of guys were catching fish flipping. Week two, most of them were flipping and the weights showed the difference. Bigger fish too. I also noticed how some of the anglers were too stubborn to change what they were doing when they were floundering.

Does anyone know what the top water bait was that Ott was throwing later in the week 2 episode?

Agreed, there is an insane amount of bushes/cover in that lake and they're only fishing a small section.

I don't know the brand but it was a popping bait like the pop-R

There's not actually a ton of bushes and cover normally. A flood had came like 4-5 days before they filmed and the lake was way way high. Like 12 foot above pool or so. And the area they fished week 2 is way more conducive to shallow water fishing naturally than where they were week 1. Some of them guys were flipping around where picnic tables normally are ? lol

Good info thanks. I thought they were fishing the same area as week 1.

Was another great show Saturday.  Poche getting stuck in the hand with two barbs then continuing on to catching a 4-9 bass with the hook still in his hand was awesome.

I really enjoy hearing what each guy is thinking while trying to figure out the lake.  One guy says that a spinner won't work today and then a few minutes later another guy is hauling in a couple bass on a spinner.  Just goes to show that these pros struggle just as much as we do.

How about the rookie Neal. Nice showing for himself.

Poche is hardcore. He didn't give up and run to the ER and anybody who's ever been stuck with a hook knows it hurts. I think if Rose or Suggs had picked up a drop shot or shakey head early on they would have done better. But both struggled and that made them question everything they were doing. Its amazing to watch a pro get spun out.

Watching the MLF makes me feel better about being an angler.  Lets me know that it's alright to catch small fish and that no matter how experienced you are sometimes you just don't know what to do.  It's refreshing.

Poche is becoming one of my favorites.  I didn't know much about him before I saw him last year on MLF and thought it was fun watching and listening to him fish.  He really acts like he wants to win and doesn't waste time going after winning.

It's funny how I end up liking certain guys and not others.  I find it usually doesn't have much to do with how they fish or how well they do it but mostly has to do with their personality.  I love seeing a guy having fun yet still trying to win.  After watching the last episode I found myself really liking Poche.

An excellent episode in my opinion.  I could listen to Randy Howell fish all day.  And man, that blue and white fishing jersey and hat looked so cool, I want them!  I forget his name, but that guy at the bottom coming almost all the way back and getting in winning distance, amazing.  What was it, four guys all within one pound of clinching?  Probably  will be one of the best episodes of the year.  Again, Randy Howell is fun to watch.

Seems not as many pop on the forum watching anymore. I can't comment yet on the last episode I've only been able to watch the first period. Sounds like a good one though

I watched all of the new ones so far.  This last one was definitely the most exciting.  Not only were the weights all close, the anglers were catching fish on pretty much everything you can think of.  I appreciate that.

Sudden death was definitely a good one.

Man Randy Howell is religious about retying, not a bad habit but I don't retie after catching a 1 pounder. That's probably from several bad experiances

Just saw this post finally.   Favorite show on tv for me.   Love watching the pros talk out the decision making process.   Makes me feel better about my frustration at times.  It's a great format with only a handful of pros.   You get to know them better and watch how they fish over the time period.  Looking forward to Saturday already!!!   My family thinks I am nuts.

My initial take away from this week is, Lefebre talks a lot! Poche is crazy intense! Never count out Palaniuk. I love everything they're doing with this format! Very informative and fun to watch!

How about Poche? The first week he was on he gets two treble hooks to the hand and keeps fishing. This week he lands a fish and while weighing the fish another grabs his lure just hanging over the side of the boat. Lol this guy is a trip!
