I finally finished watching the first episode at Eufaula last night. It was very tough and appeared to be very frustrating. The more I watch Bobby Lane the more respect I lose for him. I've learned a lot from watching him and he seems like a great guy who'd be fun to fish with and have a beer with.

We've seen him break rods over his knee, slam them on the deck, and slap them on the side of his boat. As I watched last night there was less than a minute in period 3 and he caught a dunk that wasn't legal and out of anger/frustration chucked that fish over his shoulder. In my opinion that was a very bad look and completely in poor taste. Even if it would 've measured it wouldn't have helped him.

There was less than a minute left so no penalty to pay really. He doesn't seem to care that there's a camera on him at all times. Some sort of suspension or fine should be coming his way in my opinion.

I vaguely remember that. I will agree he is somewhat of a sore loser. Seems he gets very emotional whether he's winning or losing.

Wow, KJ, is there a worse, but somehow more hilarious, fish loss than the one he had in the final seconds of the first round of sudden death?

Wonder how big of a sigh everyone lets out knowing they don't have KVD breathing down their necks the rest of the way?

It was pretty bad. That was a strange place for that rod to break

Just watched that one with kj rod snapping.  Looked like it snapped right above his reel. Gotta love your sponsors.

The more I watch Andy Montgomery the more I like him. And in case anyone wanted to know the way I fish just watch him.

Glad Jacob and Andy got through today, wonder which zone the champ round will be in?

On another note has anyone had fish blowing up 3 feet in front of them like Keith poche and still not be able to catch one lol

That was crazy. Geez, bass crashing all around. I'm surprised he couldn't just snag one.

Had that happen to me decades ago. I was fishing a bridge and a ball of baitfish showed up. Before I knew it the bass were pushing them to the surface. It looked like fireworks going off. I backed off and threw topwater, spinnerbaits, crankbaits and almost everything else I had at them and didn't catch one fish. That day was so aggravating it stuck in my mind all these years and I'll probably remember it till the end.

I always keep a jerkbait tied on for those occasions.

I have MLF set up to record on my DVR. The World Championship is on CBS so it didn't record the 1st episode. How can I view that?

Interesting I didn't know it was on CBS. When is it on? The normal Saturday time?

It was on our regular local channel but it may have been because they were on our local lakes for that deal

I think last Saturday it came on around 2pm central time for me on CBS. I had to make my DVR record it. It should be the same for the next 4 weeks

This one is a little different. Their calling it the World Championship. Only the top 12 guys. MLF got the show on CBS. Apparently that's a 1st for a fishing show. Anyway, because of the channel change, my DVR missed the 1st episode. I have since fixed that but would like to watch it. Anybody know if this is going to be replayed on the Outdoor Channel or somewhere else?

I did the xfinity search deal for it and it said it was replaying this friday on cbs.  Can't remember what time. Maybe noonish?

New show is pretty interesting and really moved at a fast pace.  Hackey really did a number on everyone.

I liked the CBS show but thought it was rushed. The Outdoor Network show is 2 hrs and this one is only 1 hr. You could tell that some of the action and comments by anglers was cut out to fit the shows reduced time slot. Part of why I watch is the comments and inside knowledge these anglers have and to minimize that hurts the show, IMHO.

I agree with gundog. It did feel rushed, it was a good episode but I felt a lot was missed.

BTW yall think kriet would jump in for a 12 incher? Lol

I think Kriet would jump into gator infested water for a catfish. That guy is country to the bone.

I haven't seen it but THAT doesn't surprise me in the least!  When he's on it, he's hard to beat.
