It's a double edge sword for me. I read a ton and watch the shows which is great but it makes me want to get out and fish but there's 6"+ of ice.

We have over 24" of ice here.  Trade ya.  Just talked to my tournament partner for 45 minutes this morning.  All that did was fuel the fire more!!   Come on May!!

I agree with 12poundbass.   All this Internet and TV fishing is a double edge sword.  Takes the edge off but fuels the fire.

You get to know them better and watch how they fish over the time period.

That's one of the reasons I really enjoy this series over watching the Bassmaster tournaments on ESPN.  You really get to know the people competing.  And it's becoming enjoyable when they bring in somebody new that I've never heard of before and end of liking him and pulling for him.  I will say this though, I'm ready for the big guys to come on - VanDam and the rest of top MLF pros.  Enough of the Selects, bring on the main show!

Can't watch this year. We let some of the Cable go.

Myoutdoortv.com 9.99 per month. That’s how I watch. In addition to MLF they have a ton of other outdoor stuff to watch too!

Unfortunately that isn't a picture out of my window and I don't have a cat. :D

How about Poche? The first week he was on he gets two treble hooks to the hand and keeps fishing. This week he lands a fish and while weighing the fish another grabs his lure just hanging over the side of the boat. Lol this guy is a trip!

He gets me laughing often.  Really enjoy watching him and I liked watching Lefebre too.

MLF has transformed televised tournament bass fishing, everything else is boring to watch.

Absolutely.  I still enjoy watching other fishing shows but they are no where close to what MLF offers.  The show should really be on a major network.  It's more entertaining for a larger audience.

It was last year, they had an episode on CBS I believe

I think you're right.  It was like a later showing or something.  I wish they would keep doing that.

I just saw on another site where MLF anounced 5 new selects. Brandon Coulter, JT Kenney, Jason Lambert, Jordan Lee, and Justin Lucas. Does that mean the field has increased or are 5 previous selects out? If so, who's out?

I had never seen the frog trailer on the buzz bait. I'm going to try that.

I saw them at work today. Strike King KVD line makes them. I believe they were called Toad Buzz. No skirt just the Buzz blade wire and hook shank with plastic toad trailers. Comes with 3 toad trailers.

I've been keeping up with the 2018 Geico Summit Selects on the Outdoor channel. It's very exciting to watch. Brandon Palaniuk's 3rd spot to meet the cut off of 16lbs was pretty incredible. To be at only 1lb well into the 2nd period and then come back and get the #3 spot. He had it going on. I'm hoping Wesley Strader takes it all though, but I'll be happy if Randy Howell gets it. I like Marty Robinson and Brandon Palaniuk also. Can't wait to see tomorrow's sudden death match ups to see who all will be going for the gusto. ?

I haven't seen it or heard it. I've been watching the Geico Summit Selects on the Outdoor channel. Just watched the Championship round that showed earlier today. My boy Wesley Strader won it all for that event. Looking forward to the next MLF event. ?

MLF=many little fish.  The basic idea is good but I just can't get into seeing dink after dink and the fisherman hollering "nice one" every time.

I was pretty disappointed that they went back to Ouachita for the Select final.  Dinkfest for sure.

Not into realistic fishing?  I've gotten tired of the "reality TV" type fishing shows that are filmed over a week and edited to look like they slaughtered monster bass in on day.  I still watch them because it's still fishing but those shows feel more promotional than anything.

Watching MLF makes me feel better about my fishing and lets me know that the pros struggle just as much as I do.  That I shouldn't feel let down by a one pound bass but use it as a way to determine a pattern.  It's entertaining, educational and a bit of a confidence booster for me.

The fishing season is also my busy season at work so my time is quite limited. When I get out I may only be able to get 3-4 hours in, so watching MLF made me realize that under the same circumstances these guys go a quantity. Yes it's usually a drink fest but average Joe me enjoys watching how they approach a lake with very limited time.

The times I do get more than a few hours I try to apply what I learn here and other resources to chase after the bigger fish.

I would bet that all the guys you see on fishing shows are catching those same dinks, it's just part of fishing.  The thing is, we don't see them catch those because it's all edited to where they only show the big fish.  Makes it look like they are doing awesome and it also condenses the show into a half hour, with commercials maybe only 18 minutes of actual content.

I can understand not having the time to watch though.  It is a long show and is perfect for those of us up north who are stuck indoors during the winter.  I record the show and enjoy watching it Sunday morning while I make breakfast and sit back to relax.

You are absolutely on point.   I do enjoy it from an educational standpoint although  I  feel the drama is somewhat reality tv driven.

I feel  like they target small bass just to add weight, which is the point of MLF, but I just don't enjoy it.  That said the fake , staged shows are indeed worse.

What a fascinating episode!  Three pounders after three pounders!   I don't think I've seen so many spinning reels used so much all through the whole episode!  Aaron Martens must be the most lethal spinning reel bass fisherman in the world.  It was crazy, they all stayed deep and not one tried to go shallow.  Good to see some four and five pound bass caught.  Still shocked the losers didn't try to go shallow.  It was like, they were all locked into doing what the other guys were doing and didn't want to take a chance of missing out, so they stayed deep.

Aaron Martens seems like an odd ball some times but that guy is amazing with a spinning reel and drop shotting.

Seems like a lot of pro fisherman think KVD is the greatest.  They mentioned his name three or four times in this episode.  Makes me wonder if KVD partly owns MLF and they are kissing up.  lol.  But no doubt, KVD is one of the greats.
