wes2000 Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Hello, I've always done my own scouting of lakes, but I started thinking that I would like to get other people's opinions and see what same/different things other people look for. Does anyone know if there are any people with experience that would do this? The lake is medina lake in Texas and Google maps has aerial images of it near empty. It is full now but was at 2% three years ago. It was heavily stocked and you can catch 10-13" bass everywhere, but finding those 14"+ keepers for tournaments is harder. Looking to find out what others think about it. 1 Quote
Super User WRB Posted January 28, 2017 Super User Posted January 28, 2017 I recall a member requesting similar info about 2 years ago for Melina lake in Texas. Try searching the site or maybe someone can add a link, might as well start with what has been already discussed. Tom Quote
h20-50 Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 I fish medina at least 4 times a month. I'm glad you noticed that Google maps shows it nearly dry. I and some friends went out there and scouted some nice spots when it was even lower than that. I've used this to my advantage and have put some really nice 5lbs plus bass in the yak this past year. My advice to you, fish the water run off channels you see when it is dry. If you look on google you will see those water runoff channels everywhere, and they filled up with vegetation when it was low. Most of my big bass have come out of those channels by the dam, and top water by the dam spill way in the morning, the best!! Quote
