I have small hands and always looking and trying new rods and reels to find the perfect match  so far the h20 xpress motive and curado 70 are the smallest and I like and the cabela zx rods and diawa rods seem to have lower reel seats to help get it small in hand. Anybody else know of or have held smaller reels and have the same problem i do with small hands , I just like the feel and control I have when fits rigjt in my palm !! Thanks

get the curado 70. better yet, get the scorpion from digitaka.

i have smaller hands and i think the curado/scorpion palms better than the smaller aldebaran 50. i think its because of the way my fingers rest on the bottom of the "gear box". the scorpion 71 is about the same size as the curado 51e but the 71 palms better in my hands. palms way better than the chronarch 51mg.

when palming, my index finger rests on the foregrip. i like a rod with a thin foregrip. putting my finger on the ugly plastic theads of an old loomis mbr or bcr rod is super comfortable to me.

btw - what they say about small hands is not true. my feet are medium sized.

What reels have you handled?  Shimano 50 size, Daiwa Alphas or PX, Lew's?

I like 50e a lot in smaller profile reel type. The 70 is also good comfortable but my asian hand like 50e better. It also depend on rod the reel will be seated in too.

Welcome aboard!

I second the 50e size. I hear the 70 is great, too.

The alphas is a great small reel.  I have never owned a pixy but i am sure they are just as good.  If your looking for lite and small the alphas air might be your go to.

The new Lew's SLP (Super Low Profile) reels are the smallest I have found and they are great, I am slowly switching all my reels to the SLPs.  They have models from $99 up to $270 and so far I've tried 4 of them and love them so far.  Super lightweight and very sturdy so far.

The 70 size Curado and Scorpion are the smallest reels I've been able to fish with comfortably. They're both very nice.

i've never tried the 70 size, but love the 50 size shimanos i have (aldebaran 51hg, aldebaran mg7, core 51mg7, curado 51e) and also really like the daiwa alphas sv 105 for a nice small reel as well.

I have these reels with the handle on the "correct" side.

I didn't know you were left handed, Ken. ;)

I recently bought a JDM Scorpion 71.  It's a great reel, but I prefer the size of my Shimano 51's and the Daiwa Alphas line, to include the Pixy and Sol over the 71.

I have mostly Lews  and with the exception of the bb2 are all on the smaller size and are good reels that run the gambit on price... Good Luck
