robertb Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 I haven't been south fishing in quite a few years. My brother has been diagnosed with cancer and has been given 6 months to a year to live.He told me he'd like to go south this spring on one last fishing trip. Right now I'm thinking about the St. John River Rodman Res. in March or Guntersville in April. We live in Ohio so Guntersville would be a shorter drive. Any other recommendations? Thanks Bob Quote

riverbasser Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 First of all I'm sorry for the situation. Both of those are good lakes. I would have to add Toledo bend and being this is possibly a last trip I would have to suggest mexico if it could be done. Since that would be a truly great trip. Either way good luck and I wish you both the trip of a lifetime. 1 Quote
Super User RoLo Posted January 26, 2017 Super User Posted January 26, 2017 I'm sure your main interest is the comradery and some fishing action to boot. Though I live in Florida, if I were you I'd probably take my brother to Toledo Bend or Guntersville. Whatever you decide, have a great time Roger 1 Quote

I've been there twice and had a great time although it's been 7 or 8 years ago. 1 Quote
