Are they any way to keep a sonar screen clean , even the Pro's seems to have the same problem , their's looks as bad as mine ? Bass Pro's showed a way to do it but it did't clean mine . I think a screen saver would hurt the detales to much . I know it does my CellPhone . GodBless & Thanks to Everybody Who takes time to help me

Windex Multi-Surface Vinegar and a microfiber cloth.

A "screen protector" will defeat the anti-glare coating on the displays and in some cases darken the display more.

I have been using the Rain-X product for years with great success. Word of caution on cleaning MFD screens....best to do this when the screen is cool...with any product.

Vinegar and water is the best and cheap.  Also works to take the hard water spots off the boat and is non-toxic.  A gallon of white vinegar runs about $3 and will last you all season since you mix it with water in a spray bottle.  And get some micro fiber clothes as well to use on the screens to clean them so they don't get scratched.

Couldn't find Windex Multi Surface Cleaner as shown above but bought a Windex product that has vinegar in it and it worked very well...cleanest my screens have been since I bought them.  Thanks for the tip.

I am using a product called Wave Away. It is made for cleaning sonar screens and doesn't contain any chemicals that are harmful to the screens. It is a bit expensive as it around $10 or $12 dollars for it. You get a small spray bottle of cleaner and a micro fiber towel and a small carrying pouch.

My HB Helix units came with a protective plastic thing on the screens...I just left them on...if they impede clarity...I'm kinda scared, cuz I can see stuff I could never see with my x98 SI...

I clean those now and then with about two drops of fish soap in about a half gallon of warm-up water that I then use to wipe up any other stuff that needs to cleaned.
