Purchasing two rods next week 1 spinning 1 casting. I like the feel of the Legend tournament bass rods.  Thinking about pulling the trigger on 6'9" MhMF "Sniper Spinnerbait" rated up to 5/8 or 7'MhMF "Sweeper Spinnerbait" rated up to 3/4. Never handled these rods but I'm wanting to use them for 5-6ft squarebills and 1/2oz lipless cranks around grass. Does anyone own these rods if so what do you personally use them for?

Also curious about the 6'10 MlXF "Drop shot/ Finesse" spinning rod. Would mostly use for weightless plastics, senkos, and ocassional shakeyhead, or 1/8oz weight. Anyone own this also?

I got one of those, kinda.  It's built on that blank but it's extended to 7'. Love it so much I'm building myself another!  I only use it for dropshot though.

Oops.  I just read this said Legend Tournament.  I have the LX and LE.  My wife has the 6'9" MLXF LT.

I've used the st croix legends tournaments, sold both of them two years ago or maybe three now? I don't remember. Either way I find the st croix rods run a bit stiff for their rating. Usually find if it says 1/8th to 1/2 it isn't going to throw below 1/4 very well at all.

Sensitivity wise how is the ML blank? Do you think it would fit my needs?

I think it will work for you.  I think it's pretty sensitive, but sensitivity is subjective.  Someone will hand me a rod that they think is the cats  a $$ and to me it feels like an Ugly Stick!

I'm going to be building 2 rods soon, one spinning and one casting, for weightless plastics and light jerkbaits like Slender Pointers.  The casting one will be on the inshore SCIV (Belize Blue) 7' MLF and the spinning one will be the inshore SCV (Pearl White) 7' MLF

Lol thanks for the input I appreciate it. I just don't want to get spend the money and wish I would've gotten something else. Pretty much set on a st. Croix though, just don't know if the Mod action would be best considering I fish along grass alot.

Just my .02 as I have owned many Legend Tournaments in the past... If it were me, based on past exp I would drop down to the M/F 7'1" for the squarebills and lipless baits, I had both the M and MH power/fast rods in this length, and the M is much much better for this...even around grass. St Croix's M power rods fish a lot like MH's and the MH's will be too much rod for cranking.

The 6'8" M/XF spinning rod sounds better suited to your needs for a wacky/shaky head, weightless plastics rod. I had this rod in the Mojo line, and it was darn near perfect for that.....I don't find their spinning rods to be as "over-rated" power wise as their casting rods....maybe just slightly, but the ratings are more in line on the spinning rods it seemed to me with other companies. That is until you get into their MH rated spinning rods, those things are pool ques and I never liked them.

I'm a St Croix Fan and do particularly Love the LTB Line.

I have a few.  Fished the Sweeper Spinnerbait stick for One Full Season.

Love it ~ Might Just be my favorite lipless bait rod - and as much as I fish a RES,  that's really saying something.

I realize you didn't ask about a moderate rod, But unless you are specifically throwing cranks stay away from the moderate! (I think you will, just an observation) I just ordered a mojo bass 7" MHMF rod. I am hoping it is closer to fast than moderate however.

I happen to think a ML would be better for you than a medium...but its your choice.

I know it's not the brand you're asking about but for the two techniques you listed I would recommend the 7' medium/heavy power mod/fast action Falcon bucoo trap caster for 100 bucks! Great rods for the price! I have 3 legend tournament rods and I would say that the bucoos are just as sensitive, maybe even a tad more.

I have the Sniper Spinnerbait rod. It's a good spinnerbait rod, I wouldn't want to use it for squarebills though. It has a fairly soft tip but there's not much bend further down the rod. Just seems like it wouldn't keep crankbait fish buttoned very well.

St. Croix medium heavies will be too stout for cranks/treble hook baits.  Like @ww2farmer suggested, the 7'1 M/F would be a pretty good choice for those techniques.  I have the 6'8 M/XF spinning rod and it's perfect for what you want.  I throw shakey heads, tubes, grubs, and on rare occasions, wacky rigs with it.  They're really nice rods and the sensitivity is definitely there.  St. Croix also has one of the best warranties in the biz so that's another factor to consider.

I own the LTB 7'1" M/F rod and I use mine for keel weighted Keitech's and for smaller Fish Head spins. I haven't really thrown anything over 1/2oz. with mine, but I would say it would work just fine for 1.5 squarebills and 1/4-1/2oz rattle traps.

I've got the 610mlxf dropshot rod. I absolutely LOVE it! I use it for all that same stuff as you want to use it for plus tubes, craws, finesse jigs and small topwaters on occasion. It works amazingly!

The sensitivity is amazing too! I fish tubes (a lot) as a go to for river smallies and can feel the tiniest "tick" from a fish at a full casts length (with braid).

My "two cents" on other rod powers getting suggested... I had the MXF shakey head rod first and switched to the ML dropshot. It just plain old works better for my style. I cast light weights  (weightless-1/4) waaay better now. Plus it has an amazing backbone for its power. I've had to horse 4+ pound smallies out of current on my river and it's been a champ of a rod.

No regrets for a second!

I love the LTB series. I have the spinnerbait rod and use it to fish lipless cranks in grass and for spinnerbaits.

I do not prefer it so much for casting squarebilled cranks unless it's around heavier cover. Casting anything less than 3/8 an ounce is not optimal for me with this rod. I have other rods that load up much nicer when casting them.

Hope that helps

I own 5 LTB's and couldn't enjoy them more. I have the 7'1" medium power fast action and i think that for throwing cranks it would work fairly nicely, produce very long cast and it has a soft tip, but you also may want the forgivingness of the moderate action

Personally, I think LTB is one of the better blanks on the market, but in the spinning line I am not a fan of the grip/handle.  Pretty much grabbing all blank and/or threads.
