Ba dum tss. I'll be here all week folks... Yeah I know, I know, I'm bored here work. I'll show myself out now... haha Yes sir! check my post. It is my go-to post fishing beverage of choice. I know some guys who put em' back all day long. No thanks. I'm there to fish. The beer can wait for the patio back home... I got a buddy who put back crown & coke all day while fishing with me once....needless to say, he didn't feel too good the next morning! 1 Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted January 26, 2017 Super User Posted January 26, 2017 I've found out that I need to eat from time to time while Im fishing. Driving to fishing, I'll generally have coffee and a slice of Casey Breakfast Pizza. Casey's is where I generally gas up. While I'm there I will generally buy lunch, chicken salad on a croissant is my current favorite. If they are out of those I'll stop at one of the Subway shops on the way and get a sub sandwich. In my cooler I generally have a 6 pack, either a session IPA or Shiner Ruby Redbird and a dozen or so waters. In a water proof box in the cooler I will have some Lance Crackers and some Belvita wafers. I never know what I will be hungry for. When I fill the cooler, I made sure that there will be enough room for the food to fit. Be sure and carry zip lock bags so that your sandwiches stay cool buy not get wet. The earlier comment about facilities is a pertinent one. If the lake doesn't have a decent privy relatively close to the dock, I ain't going fishing there. Quote

Oh geez, beers all day is one thing, I couldn't imagine whiskey all day! Yikes! Haha Quote
WI_Angler1989 Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 The healthier the better for me. If it's just around home I'll take my Kleen Kanteen of water, an apple, a small bag of almonds or Brazil nuts, maybe a banana, and jerky. It all depends on the day. In summer we always have awesome peaches from the local Farmers Market too! Any longer trips and sandwiches are hard to beat. Maybe a thermos of coffee or tea in the cold. Quote

frosty Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 I don't see how you guys fish drinking all this coffee! I can't stand still long enough to fish. It's cast/tree/cuss/repeat/move somewhere with less trees I used to slam the Red Bull a lot, I've cut it out completely, but I refuse to give up my morning coffee, but it doesn't give me much patience! 1 Quote
Cranks4fun Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 early AM fishing always starts with about 20 oz. of COFFEE (the nectar of life) but I eat Jerky, Chips, trail mix, salted almonds, Crackers with Peanut Butter, sandwiches, whatever my buddy has in his box and occasionally sardines to gross out the guy fishing with me! I like bottled sweet tea and water too! Quote
Al w. Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 I usually put a couple of frozen water bottles along with a few Diet Sun Drops in the cooler. I also fill up a big zip loc with granola bars, pb crackers, chips, oatmeal pies, basically whatever I can find in the cabinet. 1 Quote

Aldis has turkey sticks that are excellent. They cannot keep them on the shelves here . There will be boxes of beef sticks , mostly untouched and the turkey boxes will be empty . 1 Quote

Super User MassYak85 Posted January 27, 2017 Super User Posted January 27, 2017 Usually if I'm in my kayak I just bring snacks. Granola bars, nuts etc. If I plan to be out on a boat where I can bring a cooler I might bring a couple sandwiches. I try to avoid bringing drinks other than water when I'm in the kayak, for obvious reasons. Sometimes my water bottle has to take one for the team. 1 Quote
