Is there any New Hampshire angler who can give me the main types of forage the smalls are feeding on in squam lake and on winni

I would imagine smelt and crayfish.

As salmotrutta said, crayfish are a huge portion of their diet as well as small yellow perch (which you can not use as live bait because of their spinney dorsal fin).

Smelts,... are the "main" forage base up there. But they will eat anything

Try a Carolina rig with a baby brush hog.  Or 6 inch lizard.   Drag it on the bottom.
