Kieran Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 recently purchased berkley havoc pit boss jrn , once pack of each colour; blue disco, summer craw, caliornia, big tecan and green fleck. was wondering what size hook people would use for this bait, its a 3inch bait. I was thinking size 2 or 1/0 offset wide gape hook. opinions? furthermore what colour do people think would work best in dark river water, not muddy. id say more stained river with low water visability. any help appreciated, thankyou! im an english fisherman btw, and will use these in the uk , so many of these bass products are not natural to me, has im more of a huge jerkbait guy. CTBassin860 Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 id be using the 3" on a swim jig/bladed jig as a trailer.Or on the back of a kvd bitsy bug for light pitching. Quote
Super User everythingthatswims Posted January 23, 2017 Super User Posted January 23, 2017 Texas rig with a 1/0 ewg and as a trailer on a finesse jig are the only ways I have fished one Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted January 24, 2017 Super User Posted January 24, 2017 This is a favorite bait of mine for when the bite is tough. I usually rig them on a Berkley Fusion, or VMC "Ike approved " 2/0 EWG super line hook, and either peg a 1/4 or 3/8 sinker to the nose of them to flip/pitch, or put that hook on a Mustad "fastach" 3/4 oz wobble head to drag around rocky areas. They also are a great finesse jig trailer. Quote
