jr231 Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Seen these recently... Kind of cautious because they are comparatively cheap...It's odd to me that they would sell cheaper than most of their other "regular" lures... I don't own many livetarget because of the price and so many other companies produce for me. I have about 5 or 6 of them... But when I think about it.. I have caught bass on all of them.. even the stupid topwater sunfish. Some nice bass too.. I think I'm going to get one just to try.. but was curious on the input of anyone who already has tested these. Quote
bigturtle Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Im also interested to know if these stand upright on the bottom like savage gear and huddleston baits 2 Quote

Super User MassYak85 Posted January 22, 2017 Super User Posted January 22, 2017 Strange, both my 8" Savage Gear Line through and my huddleston 68 special stand upright. Quote
Super User Angry John Posted January 22, 2017 Super User Posted January 22, 2017 I have a 5" shad that i have taken out once to test. The tail does not move like a hud when reeling very slow. I will give it a while and if it does not produce then i may try boiling the tail for a bit. Quote
Super User everythingthatswims Posted January 22, 2017 Super User Posted January 22, 2017 I haven't seen one in person, but I don't have high hopes for this bait. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted January 23, 2017 Super User Posted January 23, 2017 I think they are worth a try, but I doubt they will produce like a Huddleston. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 23, 2017 Global Moderator Posted January 23, 2017 I bought one to try, I wish I wouldn't have. 1 Quote

UPSmallie Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 Bought two 5" trout parr swimbaits for big pike in the Spring after ice out. Can't say how well they work as they're still in the box. Not many, if any, reviews on these lures. The design looks solid. Just got to start fishing it and see how it works I guess. 1 Quote

Plastic is much stiffer than I'd hoped, resulting in very little tail movement. It has a very strong smell to it. I've fished it a few times and had exactly 1 bite, which didn't connect. Despite the lack of bites, a good portion of the paint is peeling off the bait, revealing clear plastic below that realistic looking finish. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 24, 2017 Super User Posted January 24, 2017 Surprised they haven't received a cease and desist with that tail... 3 Quote
ErikmonBillsfon Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 I got a perch 4". Looks fantastic!! Wondering if the 5" kicks better than the 4" in the para trout and each models. Wish they made a bluegill and baby bass version of these. Quote
d-camarena Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 I fish these a lot. On mine the tail thumps even at the lowest speeds great baits and at a great price. Some people might have gotten some bad ones. Every other livetarget lure i hate. Specially that topwater sunfish thing Quote

And have had success on all their lures ! Just don't buy anymore cuz others produce for me... Have you caught alot of bass with em ? Quote
Wonderwood Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 I have fished the topwater sunfish and it walks like a dream and very easy. I have had two strikes on it that didn't connect while fishing it a rather small amount of time. I plan to keep trying it but the only issue I have is the paint is coming off the nose, presumably from the braided line scraping on it. I wonder if a short mono leader would do the same thing. Quote

Not to mention the ugly uncolored weight on the bottom. I think you'll be fine Quote

I think you'll be fine I never really thought about that weight as being an issue but it is ugly. It does seem like it could be something they could address with any updates to the design. Quote
