JWOA Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 What heavy gear are you guys using that is light enough that I won't get tired? This rod has be stout; as I was fishing one area of a pond and its very tough. I have logs, stumps, and grass to watch out for. Quote
Oklahoma Mike Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 What kind of baits are you wanting to throw on this setup? Quote
bigturtle Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 That's a really open ended question. What may be light or won't tire out someone may not be the same for you. When you say heavy, im assuming its rated to 1.5oz for jigs and what not. For me, its my X7 Diablo Fastmove. Quote
Outdoor Zack Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 If you have to have something: 6 foot MH/F spinning combo, spoiled with 15 - 20 pound mono or 30 - 50 pound braid throw anything from senkos to brush hogs to frogs into that cover Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 21, 2017 Global Moderator Posted January 21, 2017 Well balanced equipment shouldn't wear you out, even if it's heavy duty gear. I have a 7' 11" H/F Okuma TCS Matt Daddy I can fish all day without getting tired. 2 Quote
CTBassin860 Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Logs stumps and grass are what you should be throwing lures into. Not watching out for. 2 Quote
Yudo1 Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 I really like Kistler KLX rods. Take a look at either the heavy or x-heavy depending on the amount of cover. The blanks are from Gary Loomis northfork composites. They are light and sensitive. Quote
