Gillroid 9000 Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 So today i got news from my dad saying the family is moving to S Korea. I know S Korea has Largemouth and Bluegill as Invasive species and people complain that these 2 "invaders" are eating the native fish there. My pa jokes saying if you go fish in a pond with a bunch of bass your not going to catch carp there. Why? Because the bass ate all of em. The conditions and climate is Similar to Japan and basically bass are everywhere. Not sure what to use there and the conditions and enviroment isnt the same there. Asking advice what lures to bring with me along with gear. This is going to be interesting. Quote

Oklahoma Mike Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 I hear there is some really good bass fishing if you just cross the border to the north 3 Quote
Super User burrows Posted January 20, 2017 Super User Posted January 20, 2017 I hear once you pass threw those mine fields and the barb wire fencing there are some hogs in those ponds. It's worth it for some good bass fishing you just won't ever be able to come back. 2 Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted January 20, 2017 Super User Posted January 20, 2017 Well in south korea the bass really prefer eating live octopus. A number 1 circle hook and a small octopus will outfish any traditional bass lure in korea by a factor of 6 to 1. Gotta dropshot them though to prevent the octopus from crawling in a hole and hiding 2 Quote

I reasearched and this is what i got. The Bass there eat similar forage to Japan and it consists of Trout,Bluegill,Baby carp,Minnows,Frogs,Crawdads,Ayu,Grass shrimp ETC. Looks like its not going to be that much different. Quote
mixel Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 You could probably find some very lightly fished areas around the DMZ. Lake in S. Korea near the DMZ or Lake in N. Korea near the DMZ 1 Quote

Eric Buck Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 I had a blast fishing there. Unfortunately, you will probably experience bass dead on the banks as they are referred to as trash fish. I got a mountain bike and fished everything that looked fishy. Quote
