The rest of the "deals" aren't spectacular.  Half of the items in the sale paper aren't even sale prices!  Regular prices with fancy pictures.  Unfortunately this sale seems to get more predictable and less worthwhile each year.  And each year I get Bass Pro gift cards for Christmas, wait for this sale, and find none of what I want on sale.

I started asking for tackle warehouse gift cards lol.

This years sales are pathetic. I do not see any reason to make a 2 hour drive for what they are offering.

Yes.  I have found quite a few items on sale that aren't even mentioned in the flyer.  I don't know why they would do that, other than not wanting to commit to having huge amounts on hand at sale price.

Yup, my local store had a sale on St Croix sticks going. Might have been because they had just changed their fishing section around and had increased their inventory on some rod makers.

St. Croix sale?  Do you have any specifics?  My local store starts the sale this Friday.

Sorry for the confusion. This was last year at the Colorado Springs store.

just went online to place my bulk order for soft plastics, like i do every year, only to find that sale prices apply to "in store" purchases only this year.

hmmm, thats new.

what do you suppose the chances are of them going back in the stock room and digging me out 50 bags of my favorite plastics?

Yep...apparently I will NOT be getting a new PQ

I live 15 minutes from BP and decided I'm not even going in today to pick up a $49 PQ. Would rather wait to see what the new version is like, especially when I can pick up a Lews LFS for not too much more than the sale price of the old PQ.

Also, why doesn't the rod and reel trade in start until next week?

I think that there is something wrong with me. After browsing the entire Classic flyer the only thing that I wanted was that kid's foam bass hat on page 3. I know that I am a kid at heart but this might be stretching it a bit.

48 going on 8.

New version coming out?  I didn't realize that.   I actually am going in today to see if they have a $49 PQ, I just can't pass that up.    I have two reels in that $100 range - a Lews Speed Spool and the PQ, I like both but if I had to pick one over the other it would be the PQ.  Regardless of whether or not a new model is coming out, that is a really nice reel for that price.

I had the same question about the trade-in dates.

If anybody happens to go to BPS for the sale, can you

inform whether or not Yamamoto Senkos are part of

the sale? I notice not everything on sale gets put in the

flyer, so just wondering...

Not holding my breath they will be.

Oh, picked up some Pond Magic spinnerbaits at Walmart

yesterday...Just under $3 each. (Not the micro)

Checked BPS pricing on same ones: $4.29. Really?! Hard

to buy any bait there anymore unless it is on a good sale.

I don't think they were, but I couldn't swear to it.  I will be back in the store Thursday and will give you a definite answer if you can wait until then.

I had a pocket full of BPS gift cards I've amassed over the last year, so I went in this morning to grab a PQ and see what else they had. Ended up only getting the reel. Nothing really that impressive on the sales. Most of their stuff is already overpriced, so a 20% discount just gets the price down to normal. For example, they had Suffix 832 on "sale" for $15.99 - which is the regular every day price at TW.

The place was a madhouse too. I got there about 15 minutes after they opened and the lot was full. And of course every single one of those people was in the fishing department.

I'll probably, well, more on the possibly side, hit

the Hampton store up this weekend or sometime

next week. Won't be surprised if they're not on

sale, tho.

Exactly right on that...
