XF15-Loader Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 Well, I've decided to pull the trigger on a Lew's Super Duty for a frog pole I'm putting together. But, I do have one question...Do I get the 8:1 or the 7.1:1? Thoughts? Thanks, -J Quote
npl_texas Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 8:1 - only to get it back faster, you're just working the bait with your rod and reeling the slack Quote
XF15-Loader Posted January 16, 2017 Author Posted January 16, 2017 Pulled the trigger on it. They didn't have one in store at BPs so it was bought based on reviews and comments. Hope they were right...Lol -J Quote
lonnie g Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 ill take it if you don't want it !! good luck and have fun with your new toys. Quote
Robert Riley Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 It's what I've got on my frogging set up. It's an A+ reel, and I'm excited to try the new wide-spool one. Quote
XF15-Loader Posted January 16, 2017 Author Posted January 16, 2017 Thanks, gents. I was conflicted on the reel speed because I've read people say they bought the 6.x:1 and 7.1:1 for more cranking power. I have a Tourney MB 7.5:1 that I love and have never had an issue w so I figured I might as well step up a bit. Anyway, thanks again for the input. It's definitely put my mind at ease. -J Quote
XF15-Loader Posted January 21, 2017 Author Posted January 21, 2017 Got this reel yesterday, spooled it with Sufix 50# braid and put it on my Mojo Bass MH rod. Today I walked out to the pond to get it wet and all I can say is, OMG! This reel is amazing! Smooth casting for a country mile. Well put together and pairs amazingly well with that rod. If you're considering a Lew's reel, don't hesitate. This is my second and I'm thinking there will be more to come!! -J Quote

Id like to keep it that way so there is less people buying the reels I want when they go on sale. Congrats again glad you like it. Quote
XF15-Loader Posted January 21, 2017 Author Posted January 21, 2017 Sorry, @S. Sass, I didn't mean to let the secret out but man, these reels are incredible! I also have the Tourney MB and wasn't sure it could get better than it but this reel is incredible. 1 Quote
