Gillroid 9000 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 I always steared away from super soft baits due to the durability and the high costs. I always relied on the cheaper stuff and let me be honest... I dont like em that much and they dont seem to catch fish consistently So one day i ran out of EWG hooks and i decided to use the VMC weightless Swimbait hooks on my last Senko. To my suprise the senko lasted pretty long like 5 fish. So i decided too try it on other weightless baits and wow They sure last longer for me. The screwlock keeper seems to prevent the Nose of the bait from Ripping which is the most vunerable part in Soft Lures So looks like im going for Quality instead of quality and not sure if my Hypothesis is true or not :I 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted January 13, 2017 Super User Posted January 13, 2017 You can add an Owner CPS to most hooks. http://www.ownerhooks.com/accessories.htm 2 Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted January 13, 2017 Super User Posted January 13, 2017 I've been using the Owner Twist lock light hooks for a few years now for fishing soft plastic jerkbaits. They were designed to be used with the Senko but work with a lot of different baits and don't let the "light" in the name fool you, these are forged hooks and will not bend out easily. What is nice is the screw lock does make a soft bait last longer, having a worm hook pulled through the head multiple times makes for a short life with any good soft plastic bait. 1 Quote

flyingmonkie Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 You can also stick with your favorite EWG or worm hook and add a parasite clip: http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Parasite_Clips_Stainless_10pk/descpage-PC.html 1 Quote

ClackerBuzz Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 parasite clips work amazing for hooks w/o a corkscrew. barrel swivels work just as good, are cheaper and readily available. and don't forget the biggest game changer: switch all ur soft plastics to Z-man elaztech. 1 Quote

Thread one end of a barrel swivel on the line between the weight and the hook . Start a texas rig by running the hook through the lure and back out . Now before burying the hook back in the bait run the point through the other end of the barrel swivel then finish the Texas rig . This will lock the lure into place , it will not slide down the hook and the bait will last longer . 1 Quote
