BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 12, 2017 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 12, 2017 Hey folks! I have the opportunity to interview some pros 1-on-1, and I want to include your questions. Literally. As in "Jake from Spokane, Washington asks...." Senko or dingers Actually I think the rod question could be interesting assuming one could get an honest answer from them. These guys have a huge amount of experience and I assume most to none started out fishing the high end stuff. Quote

No doubt, but I imagine they are bound by sponsorships that would prevent them from recommending anything not currently on their jersey. 1 Quote

I'd love to know all the pros unbiased opinions on stickbaits. Also I have much doubt that they fish budget rod and reels(or ones under 100). It's what they do for a living and would assume most everything is top notch. I think whatever they are willing to share is awesome. And I'm looking forward to the video Quote

That's one instance Jordan. I'm sure there are more.. but I'm also sure the majority uses combos well over 100 dollars. Hell, alot of the Joes do. Also.. I never said that it was possible ? I just said I'd love to hear it ! Quote

Ya, see, that's what happens when assumptions are made...especially when it comes to the "secret" world of sponsorships. (not really "secret", but few really know how it works). Fact is, many companies are heavily competing in the sub-$100 price wars right now for both rods and reels, and introducing new gear that is well-made and doesn't break the bank. Fact is, when it comes to sponsorships, you use what the sponsors want to push - usually their latest products, not necessarily their most expensive. And if they can get a pro to win a tournament on gear that's priced in that hot market....that's money baby. 4 Quote
jr231 Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 @Glenn makes sense to me. I have alot to say about the subject. But I'm not here to stir things up. Looking forward to the video. Quote

Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted January 16, 2017 Super User Posted January 16, 2017 If you could only use one lure during the next tourney what would it be? Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted January 16, 2017 Global Moderator Posted January 16, 2017 I realize some of these are suggestive and open ended and could rely on a "feeling" or "hunch" but someone may give good insight.... When useing soft plastics, what are the deciding factor's you consider that would convince you to change the color of the bait you're useing first, before changing to another plastic bait style? What factors do you consider to help you decide what bait or presentation to change too, when what you're useing doesn't work? How long do you stay with a certain bait before you decide to make a change? How long do you stay in an area without getting bit, before moving to another spot? When moving to another spot do you look for an area similar to the one you left, or something completely different? How do you decide when to up or down size the hook's on hard baits? Mike Quote
