Super User MassYak85 Posted January 13, 2017 Super User Posted January 13, 2017 His off-field dedication is pretty impressive, his diet is crazy. He must be doing something right because from the looks of it he ages backwards. http://cdn.barstoolsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/04/Screen-Shot-2015-08-04-at-5.04.19-PM.png?219c30 1 Quote
Super User NYWayfarer Posted January 13, 2017 Super User Posted January 13, 2017 Aging backwards, hall of fame football career, supermodel wife... Its too good to be real life. I think he sold his soul to the devil. 3 Quote
OCdockskipper Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 This conversation has some real deja vu to it. How many conversations have there been about older athletes who are performing at peak or near peak levels and seem to not be aging, only to have a PED scandal show itself soon thereafter? Please note that I am not accusing Brady of doping up. There is no evidence that he ever has and he certainly has the body that more resembles the Pillsbury dough boy than that of a body builder. I am only bringing up the fact of how often we have been down a road that very much resembles this one. Then again, he does have a reputation for cheating and has shown signs of roid rage in the past... 1 Quote
Super User gim Posted January 13, 2017 Super User Posted January 13, 2017 I don't know how a guy like that can survive on such a meager diet. Doesn't seem like enough calories or energy to perform at such a high level for a long time. Quote
Buckeye Ron Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 He may be a great quarterback, but just let him try reeling in a crankbait for 6 straight hours with those arms.? 3 Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted January 14, 2017 Super User Posted January 14, 2017 So that is the key to deflated balls and cheating... Hmmm... Lol! 1 Quote

If that is true why does everyone die eventually? Heck my grandfather 94yrs old last October. Smoked and I'm not talking about filtered cigs I mean the old man roll them yourself type for 50 years. He never dieted never ever did anything resembling a exercise besides training in the air force and working on the farm. How could he still be alive never doing any of these things Brady does. I have seen many many avid health gurus turn out the lights permanently at 60 and 70 yrs old. If he lives to be 80+ I would be surprised. Quote

jr231 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 If Tom Brady does bass fish.. I'm sure he takes trips to Florida and Mexico and has a guide put him on the lunker's. Quote

Honestly if I was in the NFL I'd probably have a short 5 year career putting aside all my checks and then retire and fish and enjoy life. But Brady obviously isn't wired that way, all he cares about is winning. 1 Quote

Super User soflabasser Posted January 20, 2017 Super User Posted January 20, 2017 7 hours ago, YoTone said: yeah because thats the usual route of the majority who smokes end up.... Well said. Some people have amazing genetics for longevity and can live over 100 years with bad lifestyle choices, but most people have to take care of themselves to have a high quality of life. An example of someone who lived a extremely long lifespan while smoking for decades is Jeanne Calment. Mrs.Calment lived for over 122 years and picked up smoking at the age of 21 and stopped smoking at the age of 119,which means she smoked for approximately 98 years(depending on what sources you read). Most people don't have the amazing genetics Mrs. Calment had, so it is not very realistic for someone to compare their lifestyle choices to her lifestyle choices. The percentage of people that live over 80 with a +30 pack year history is very small, and more people die before they reach 80 years of age with a +30 pack year history of smoking than those who take care of their health. Like one of those on that South Park episode ................ From what I've read most of his off-field training is just resistance training with those "big rubber bands" to keep his muscles loose. I imagine it's part of the reason he is not prone to injuries. That combined with how he takes hits. Most of the more mobile QB's like rodgers or Newton will fight a tackle, sometimes successfully, usually not so much, Brady just throws it away and accepts the hit like a ragdoll. Which has it's pro's and con's. It's one of the reasons I say that Rodgers is the best QB in terms of physical ability but I'd still take Brady's knowledge of the game and pre-snap decision making over the ability to scramble when the play breaks. One of Brady's things he likes to talk about is risk versus reward. Is the reward of him scrambling and fighting a tackle by someone twice his size for an extra yard worth the risk of his team losing their starting quarterback to injury. 1 Quote
