cottny27 Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 A friend of mine sent me an older dirty CL10H Carbonlite to clean & grease and fix the drag. He knows its Winter and I enjoy this kind of stuff. I was able to replace the drag washers with new ones plus a new side plate assembly which includes new bearing and brake drum. The spool and pinion were polished. I used Suberlube & TSI 321. Its noticeably smoother and quieter. Here's is the finished product. I guess a before pic would have been nice here. Thanks Goose for the info. 3 Quote

I am not sure the avg cost, but I only had to put $18 in this so far. Outdoor World has cheap parts on BPS reels and these were new parts. It's more just the time invested. 6 hours ago, lmbfisherman said: That looks good, great job. Thanks. The dude ended up just giving it to me for my time. Win win. I plan on using it this Spring and just giving it back. Quote

Now finding a rod to match will be fun Depends on what weights you want to throw. I've got two. No problem casting a 3/16 oz. Shad Rap just about as far as a tuned and upgraded TD-Z 105H. Quote

I'll be looking at M action rods I'm not one that goes below 1/4oz with a baitcast. Quote
