My wife and I are a team on the water. I never go with out her and she often out fishes me.

Wife?  No.  Daughter?  Yes.  Not in the last few years since her last baby, tho.  When she did go, I would be ready to head in and she would keep me out longer.  And I love to fish.  Have been known to spend about 15 hours on the water in one day.  :teeth:  She is another gal that sticks with Senkos.  Originally started her with spinning rods.  Pink, of course!  She hasn't taken a spinning rod out even once since I had DVT make her a 6' MHF baitcast rod.  Pink, naturally.  :D  Tried to talk her into a longer rod, but no dice.  Have tried to give her another rod or two of mine.  Nope.

Always a pleasure to see a female out fishing.  Should have held out for such a gal before getting married.  :sad78:

On the rare occasion my wife goes fishing, I bait her hook and take the fish off and release it for her. She don't like touching baits or fish. She hates the smell.

On the bright side she can pilot a boat better than I can, she grew up around them.

My mom likes fishing more than my dad. However, that's not saying a lot...

My wife says she would go out with me more, except for this reason. For you guys that have wives who fish with you on the boat, how do you solve it?

Lots of women fish and many of them will beat most men in bass fishing.

Back in the mid 70's when I started bass fishing, my younger sister always went with me.  She loved Jitterbugs, buzzbaits and Rebel crankbaits, she wouldn't throw much of anything else no matter how much I ragged on her to do so.  Always fished from the back of the boat and never complained or asked to run the trolling motor.  My mom could spot us anywhere on the lake by the two black cowboy hats we always wore (Ray Scott's influence).  Being brother & sister close in age, most every outing would typically result in some kind of argument, but she was always ready & willing to go out again the next time.

As we got families of our own and she moved from California to Texas, we obviously didn't get to fish as much together compared to when we were younger.  However, she is still one of the most competent anglers I ever have in the back of my boat, one of the few I never have to give any advice to.  She has even picked up a liking to wacky rigged Senko's and the Ned Rig, the latter just slaying them in the creeks, ponds & swimming holes around her Texas home.

I try not to travel as far or spend as much time on the water as I normally would. My wife doesn't go with me very much anymore but when she does I usually cut it down to about a 3 to 4 hour trip.

I tried to convince my wife that this was the answer: https://www.cabelas.com/product/Little-John-Lady-J-Female-Adapter/747125.uts

She said "No friggin way!"

The real answer wound up being shorter trips of 2 or 3 hours.

There's just not a lot of girls that fish, wish there would be more that are into it. The more people who fish the better imo.

Well, I’m not so sure about that. The more people there are fishing, bigger chance there is for them to find your honey hole, and no angler would appreciate that!

I’m pretty sure most of the half dressed “outdoor personality” females on instagram are posting pictures with bass they’ve “caught”.

But seriously my wife is a great fisherman. She’s does as well as anyone else I take when she gets the chance to go. Fishing just doesn’t rank as high on her hobby priority list as it does on mine.

There are plenty of woman who are very talented at bass fishing and have caught bass over 10 pounds. We have many of them in Florida, including some with +15 pound largemouth bass PB's. Check TrophyCatch and be prepared to be humbled.

The ratio of men to women that seriously bass fish is probably about 200:1. I've never met a woman in my entire life that enjoyed bass fishing. I have, however, met hundreds of men who enjoy it. Not saying that no women like bass fishing, but it's definitely a very small number.

That’s what I’ve been told.

That plus, IMO, women are not that interested in how fishing reels work or making them work better. And they do not really like tying tiny knots and looking at small things like fish hooks to figure out which is better. I can do this stuff for days, even without fishing and not get bored.
