CrustyMono Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Is this bait worth 15$ for a 50 pack? How does it compare to GYBs or Yum Dingers? 1 Quote
SwampLife Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 To me the closest to a GYB is big bite baits trick sticks.. You can get them in 25 pack bulk as well.. 1 Quote
Super User MassYak85 Posted January 9, 2017 Super User Posted January 9, 2017 They are my stick bait of choice due to the low cost and the fact I've really never had a reason to switch. 1 Quote
bigturtle Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 not quite as fragile as senkos but more fragile than dingers. I think action wise, its ever so slightly better than dingers, but not enough to matter to me. I personally dont buy them because more often than not, I find them not so straight, and I dont ahve to boil them to straighten it. Quote
j bab Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Whew, try the search bar, this comes up a lot 1 Quote
davecon Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Tried them. Senkos produce significantly better for me. 1 Quote
Super User ChrisD46 Posted January 9, 2017 Super User Posted January 9, 2017 Here is what I find about ordering BPS Stik-O stick worms that I dislike : Without fail I always find at least two stick worms where the color is off noticeably . Then I will find at least two that are deformed , came out of the mold wrong , etc. Essentially poor quality control - makes me wonder if they save these "misfits" for their mail order customers ? At any rate , with GYB Senko and Yum Dinger the QC is certainly better with GYB Senko being the best . I do however wish to try the Gambler Ace worms as I research where they are quite good as well . Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted January 9, 2017 Super User Posted January 9, 2017 been contemplating trying them for awhile , took the 75 minute drive today and bought 2 30 packs , 1 frog by a brand we can't mention , everything else is way to expensive . 1 Quote

Go buy a smaller 16 pack and decide for yourself. Im gonna try this out in the spring myself. But the price per bait is close to Yum (in 16 count bags) so I would suggest that you pull the trigger anyway. Hard to believe that they wouldn't work 1 Quote
DaveT63 Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 They have always produced for me. Not as productive as GYBC, but they last longer. I like the Gambler Ace better than the Sticko though. 1 Quote
tander Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Use Strike King's Zero or Z MAn's Zinker Z, one worm will last all day and then some. The longer you use them, the better they are, Quote
SFL BassHunter Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 I fish a bunch of different stick baits. I've moved away from the GY Senko because of price. For me the Stickos are just as productive as the Senko. There is a video out there also showing it side by side with a senko in a pool. I forget who posted it, but he tested many brands and the Sticko has the most similar fall rate and action out of the stick baits tested. I recently started throwing the Netbait Stick Bait and I really like them. They have more wiggle than the Sticko. I shy away from any stick bait that has a hook gap. I don't like them personally. I prefer to texpose and then poke the point of the hook back into the bait. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted January 9, 2017 Super User Posted January 9, 2017 Crusty, do yourself a favor and use the search function on the site. These have been discussed *a lot* here. They are my go-to baits after the Senko, and yes, worth the $$ for the pack. Quote
SwampLife Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 I agree with a lot of these... Even though I think the trick sticks are the closest immitation and I have tried them all but nothing compares too GYBC... I beilve Academy has them cheapest that I found with out being some sort of sale Quote
Super User MassYak85 Posted January 9, 2017 Super User Posted January 9, 2017 Usually I wait until the 50 packs go on sale for like 10 bucks and buy a couple in the colors I use most. 1 Quote

CTBassin860 Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 NEVER caught a fish on one.Yum dingers on the other hand catch me fish. Quote
Ohitsmeagain Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Senkos are Better however these are cheap and still work well. Quote

RyneB Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 I have on several occasions fished them along side a GYBC senko and more often the BPS brand outfishes the senko. I fished a tournament on the Mississippi River and brought my girlfriend for my partner. she was in the back of the boat throwing a BPS stik o and I was in front throwing a senko. both green pumpkin, she had 4 keepers before I even landed a fish. I switched to the BPS brand and limited and culled twice in the next hour. If I'm skipping docks, I choose the Senko, I can skip it better than any other bait. 1 Quote

William Rossi Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 In general... More salt = faster sink and less durable. (Salt does not stick to salt) More softness = less durability So basically that is a double wammy against the Senko's durability. Off brands usually have less salt so are lighter and fall slower (which in some cases can be an advantage) Off brands usually are stiffer so may not halve quite the wiggle on the fall. I sometimes prefer a stick that is not so soft that it folds in half when pulled. A stiffer stick can be quivered in place more easily Quote
