For those of you who have experience with both which is the better reel? I've heard the Chronarch e is the same as the curado e.

Yup the Chronarch E is the same as the Curado E just a different paint job and a plastic star drag instead of alumininum.  I own both and its a toss up.  The Curado I palms a bit better in my mind but the Chronarch E is easier to dial in and casts a bit better.

P.S.  I got a few E series reels for sale in the flea market.

Well you have the Chronarch 50e and the 200e. Then you have the Curado 200i and 70i? What reels are you comparing. IMO the Curado 70i is a very nice reel and much better than the 200i and the breaking profile is also improvement. Are you wanting something for more of a jig and plastic reel, something for lighter baits, or something with more line capacity and for tossing baits over a 1/2 oz?

They are both great! I own curados from almost every generation and I like the I series design the best overall. The 200 for heavier/higher resistance lures and light saltwater, and the 70 series for just about everything else. The e series chronarchs and curados were great reels but if I had to choose, I'd move forward with the I series every time.

I love the E series 50 size Chronarch and Curado.  I sold a Curado 201I because I didn't care for it.  I also have a Scorpion 71 that I like better the more I use.  But for now, I prefer the E series.

Imho the E is better for more up close heavy duty work whereas the I is more comfortable to use for casting. If I had to choose between the 2 I'd take the E, no question.

I'm a big fan of the 50 sized E series reels.  I've also owned 200E, 200I and 70I.  Nearly everything I currently use is a 50E.

Although the Chronarch E appears to be the same exact reel as the Curado E (minus the paint job), it really does feel more refined than the Curado.  I really don't see a difference in their casting distance but the Chronarch is smoother and has no backplay in the handle unlike the Curado.  Both are awesome reels, regardless.

The Curado I is also a great reel.  Like some others are saying, I think it does palm a little better than the E series but definitely doesn't cast better.  You can't go wrong with either but considering the E series reels aren't easy to come by (and you will have to pay near retail for them if you do) you may be better off  going with the I.

I go back and forth over which i like more. I dont particularly care for the white and black paint job i prefer the green on the curado.    No complaints with the I series great reel. Go with whatever one handles better for u if u can check out both

WI I've fished both and own several Chronarchs.  They're both super reliable, user friendly reels and bye all accounts very, very similar.  There is no bad choice between the two.
