My wife and I and our family plus daughter in laws mom went to Disney World this last few days and just got home yesterday.   Really were blessed from above about the weather and just the trip in general.  Everything went so very smooth.  Just missed the ugly stuff (rain and wind) going down.  Did have some around Atlanta and it took almost three hours to get through this area but were worried about snow coming home and it was clear sailing and knocked three hours off coming home.  Did see many unfortunate ones in the ditch.

Anyway....first I would like to apologize on not being able to find the name of the lake by Disney world a previous fisherman had talked about with the free john boats to use at this park.  This park is awesome and so were the people running it.  We went down to the dock and the lady said at the gate there's a LOT of fish in there and she wasn't wrong.  Also told us that bread was good for the big gills and such.  First we tried catching bass with the kids....the trip was all about them anyway....Well not a sniff from the bass but there were panfish everywhere....everywhere.  Tried some stuff on the gills and no luck at all...so put a piece of cheeto on a hook and bingo....grandson had a fish.  Caught a couple more but cheeto's were tuff to use on those panfish.  Daughter in law brought banana bread....WOW.  Stuff stayed on the hook for #@!$ but with a little spit it would last a couple seconds longer.  Everyone got fish...even the daughter in laws mom caught her first fish ever...was cool.  The really exciting part was when some "moby" bass tried to steal the gills off the hooks.  This happened several times.  Was awesome....thank you for info previous writer.

P.S.  Walt Disney world was tuff on this ol man.....legs and feet are tired.

Very nice. Sounds like a bluegill swimbait might have done the trick. I saw a BamaBass Youtube video where he and his wife caught them in one of the Disney lakes on live shiners.

Me and the wife went to Disney with some best friends and their kids. That place is awesome and I thought it would suck. Think I had more fun than the kids did. We have another trip planned for 2019 now that we have a 6 month old. We spent six days running around nonstop from about 6am to after midnight. The last day, I returned to the room solo and called it a night. Still so much we wanted to do that just didn't fit into the schedule. The 12 hour drive one way was probably the easiest part of our trip.

Same here. We took our daughter when she was 5 or 6 and it was my first time. I was 41-ish. It was the best time I think I've ever had on vacation. We had it all paid for before we went. Spent maybe $100 of our own money for souvenirs. I don't think my legs have ever been so tired. My feet hurt to my knees.

That's what we did. All we had to pay for was tips for meals and whatever gifts we bought. At first, I thought the meal package was expensive, but we plan to do it the same way next time. It was so much easier just scanning a band and we was on our way. I think the best meal we had was the first night at Fulton's, one of the best steaks I have had.

That was about the only complaint I had. The food wasn't great. We stayed at the Polynesian and did the luau for our first dinner, which is supposed to be all-you-can-eat roasted pork and beer. Well, if you can get a waiter's attention, you can maybe get two servings and two beers before the show starts and they all disappear. We also ate at the Moroccan restaurant in Epcot that was pretty good. Other than that, we had a lot of bland meals.

I think the majority of our meals was pretty good, but we went to a lot of the higher end restaurants since our plan covered everything. The only buffet style place we went to was Mickey's Backyard BBQ. Can't complain about our service as we had some very good waiters and waitresses.

Last day we went to the restaurant T-REX in Disney springs.   Really good and our waitress was excellent.  Glad we got there early....within an hour it was an hour wait!!  AND....I was tired of waiting and waiting and waiting.  Great time though.  Can't remember...sorry...where it was but we went to this place with these huge really big cinnamon rolls the first day....amazing...melted in your mouth and I even had to take an insulin shot with these bad boys!!

Sounds like you had a blast.  Is the place you went to Bill Fredrick Park on Turkey Lake? I think the local BPS supplies a few trackers to fish from.  Sounds like fun, we go to Orlando a lot and I have wanted to try that out.

Yes...it is Turkey Lake.  Lady at front gate said it's one of the best lakes in area.  Thanks

Turkey Lake is great. They have the jon boats free now?

They used to cost like 25 bucks for 4 hours or something like that and only certain days of the week.
