Between work and church I didn't get to catch much of Live but both times I tuned in they were talking about it. They must have had a lot of fun with it and I bet Tommy hates them. They sure got me good ? 13 hours ago, 12poundbass said: LOL. I was still scratching my head wondering what he was thinking. I can rest easy now knowing Tommy Sanders won't look like his face is frozen stiff. Lmao, all they were saying at first was that he got plastic surgery and they were going to reveal his new picture at the end of Live. So at the very end they showed a picture of Tony Romo and said Tommy always wanted to look like Tony Romo. They then showed a pic of Tommy's face melded with Tony Romo's. It was pretty funny, but they never really said why Tommy wasn't there. 1 Quote

Super User fishballer06 Posted August 15, 2017 Super User Posted August 15, 2017 I hate how these northern events are a little more predictable. The same guys seem to always be at the top for these events, where as the other events around the country, it's more of anyone's game. Prime example - Bracket A: Palaniuk and VanDam own 62.5% of the picks. The only other contender in that bracket is Feider. 2 Quote

Super User Gundog Posted August 17, 2017 Super User Posted August 17, 2017 Rethinking putting KVD on my list for Lake St. Clair. 2015 he finished 63rd. Might switch to Palaniuk. Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted August 22, 2017 Super User Posted August 22, 2017 Get ready fellas, this one should be a good one. Quote

Super User NorcalBassin Posted August 24, 2017 Super User Posted August 24, 2017 I've been a fan of Palaniuk since he burst onto the scene at his first classic and found out he was from one of my favorite places to fish in Idaho. I'm rooting for and picking him to get a walkoff AOY win, but it's probably in his best interest to play it a little safer and just shoot for a top 25 finish to secure his title. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted August 24, 2017 Super User Posted August 24, 2017 I've spent all season second guessing myself on dark horse picks. At 93%, I'm doing well enough that I don't want to swing for the fences again. I hate myself for doing it, but I have pretty much all the favorites. -Brandon Palaniuk -Alton Jones -JVD -Pickens -Lane playing it safe sucks but I made the decision to do it. Hopefully it works out. Edit: oh yeah, also this is almost my identical lineup for the St. Lawrence and these guys did really good there, so I wanted to duplicate it. 1 Quote
OCdockskipper Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 I went for lower percentage guys in the upper buckets and favorites in the lower buckets: A - Ehler B - Crews C - Lucas D - Pipkens E - Lane Quote

You have the exact same line-up as I do. Is your tie breaker 82 pounds also? Lol 1 Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted August 24, 2017 Super User Posted August 24, 2017 Palaniuk Shryok JVD Pipkens Zaldain I switched to Shryok earlier this week. Lets hope it pays off. Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted August 24, 2017 Global Moderator Posted August 24, 2017 Feider Shryock Ike Pipkins Omori I might regret picking Tak by the end of the day. Maybe not though. Quote
Super User Gundog Posted August 24, 2017 Super User Posted August 24, 2017 I got Palaniuk, Martens, JVD, Pipkens, and Lane. I set my total weight lower at 74 lbs 14 oz. cause I think there will be a drop off in weights in days 3 and 4. Only one of my picks that worries me is Chris Lane. Quote
IndianaFinesse Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 What happened to palinuik? Hopefully his bassrak just hasn't pinged in a while. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted August 24, 2017 Super User Posted August 24, 2017 These guys can run to Erie or Huron if they wish, which all are split between the US and Canada, so it's likely there is bad signal where some of the guys are. Also, some guys may have ran an hour or two to get to their spots, so they other guys who fished closer to the launch would have a jump on them as well. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted August 24, 2017 Super User Posted August 24, 2017 Palaniuk with a 6-8 lunker... 1 Quote

Super User fishballer06 Posted August 24, 2017 Super User Posted August 24, 2017 Is there a point bonus for lunker? A 6.5 pound smallmouth up north is tough to beat. AOY points currently has Brandon 40 points ahead of JW. Quote

Ashley - 689 (Don't sleep on him either, he had 18-14 today) ....... ....... 8. KVD - 636 Quote
