Super User MIbassyaker Posted July 21, 2017 Super User Posted July 21, 2017 Wheeler, Lefebre, Powroznik, Card, Pipkens. Basstrakk leaderboard position as of 2:06PM EST: 40, 7, 25, 16, 43 Quote
BCline Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Bobby Lane stunk it up this week. I picked a bad tourney to pick him over KVD. The rest of my team has a shot at making the cut. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted July 21, 2017 Super User Posted July 21, 2017 Still a few people left to weigh in, but my guys smashed the fish on day two. I made it to 95% last night and I think I'll probably move up another point or two. Everybody made the cut with ease. Quote
Super User scaleface Posted July 21, 2017 Super User Posted July 21, 2017 I had three anglers in the bottom twenty . Quote

You went up about 140 points today, you took the lead for the 40 points big bag bonus and all of your guys are in the Top 25. Here is the scenario I am rooting to happen for you - Palaniuk & at least 3 of your other guys make the top 12 while Feider, Jones, JVD or Pipkins catches big fish for the tournament. That will steal the 40 point big fish bonus away from KVD as well as you having both of the bonus's split between 2 anglers (tougher for someone else to duplicate). Even if KVD leads 2 more days & ends up winning, he would end up with 320 points, something Palaniuk matches with a 5th place finish and big bag. Then your picks in buckets B thru E will most likely be enough to carry you to victory. While I am disappointed in dropping from 1st to 4th or worst in our group, I do root for our folks to win one of the prizes. I know how much effort you put into research, I hope it pays off for you. One lesson I learned is never ridicule an anglers wife. I made a negative comment about the abilities of Trait Crist Zaldain last month, and her husband punished me by finishing 90th. Maybe he is looking to get booted from the Elites so he can fish all the opens with her... Quote

In fact, I'm legally ineligible to win the event since I'm under 18 years of age, so I would have to forfeit any prizes. I play because I love the sport. Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted July 22, 2017 Super User Posted July 22, 2017 I've got 5 in the top 37, I need 1 more good day. Quote

Your dad goes by the nickname Kyle right (wink, wink), he is the one who is actually filling out the roster... Seeing you win a 3K BPS gift card & then have to forfeit it would be as bad as busting off a personal best at the boat because of a bad knot... 1 Quote

If for some unexplainable reason you follow that annoying bug in your ear telling you to forfeit the prize, please forfeit it in my direction. Quote

Another thing is that I put in a winning weight for the event, but my internet was being really slow that day and it never ended up registering...didn't realize that until yesterday. So I have no tiebreaker weight. And yes, it would suck. I would definitely pour over the official rules and give bassmaster a couple of calls. But at the end of the day, I would do the right thing. Super User fishballer06 Posted July 22, 2017 Super User Posted July 22, 2017 All 5 of my guy's are in the top 30 and I'm at the 98th percentile. Solid event for me. 3 Quote
OCdockskipper Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 The standings for our group just tightened up. With Lucas, Fieder & Pipkins going the wrong direction and Hartman, Martens, & Palaniuk gaining points, the top 5 are all within a 100 points of each other. I might be a point or two off, but I have it with ALK402 in the lead, about 50 points ahead of Ikefanhere, who is 20 points ahead of myself & gundog (I believe we are tied), and NorCalBassin just 20 or so points behind us. All of us have at least 1 angler fishing tomorrow and everyone but me is in line for a 40 point bonus for big fish or big bag. The anglers that can affect scores tomorrow are KVD (1st), JVD (2nd), Palaniuk (3rd), Schulz (8th) , Hartman (11th) & Jones (12th). How about a 28 lb bag with a 7lb kicker for Bernie on Sunday?!? 1 Quote
Super User Gundog Posted July 22, 2017 Super User Posted July 22, 2017 Wow, did not see Hartman coming on so strong. Now I'm glad I had him on my roster. 1 Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted July 22, 2017 Super User Posted July 22, 2017 Three of my guys (JVD, Palaniuk, and Jones) made the top ten with all five 25th place or better. The dream team got it done. 3 Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted July 22, 2017 Super User Posted July 22, 2017 Just KVD left for me and it's tough looking at the top 12 and seeing a few guys I was really close to choosing and just didn't have confidence in. Quote
CTBassin860 Posted July 23, 2017 Author Posted July 23, 2017 Ehrler and Palaniuk left. With a 20th from Card. Nice to have 2 of the top 4 though Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted July 23, 2017 Super User Posted July 23, 2017 Faircloth didnt produce and zaldain flopped first day. Live and learn. Always go safe picks. Quote

Not to throw a wet blanket on your great showing, but Jones was in 12th after day 3 while Fieder slipped to 34th and Pipkins took a nosedive to 48th (did he even fish on Saturday? ). Had those last two not slipped, I dare say you were on the way to a very memorable performance. Great job!! Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted July 23, 2017 Super User Posted July 23, 2017 KVD!! What can you say, that dude is amazing. Win #24 on his 300th career BASS tournament. 1 Quote
OCdockskipper Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 After day 4 weigh-in, I (unofficially) have ALK402 still leading our group, with Gundog moving up to 2nd, Kyle to third, NorCal 4th and me down to 5th. Unfortunately for me, Bernie Shultz took a wrong turn out of the marina, drove to the Atlantic Ocean and spent the day fishing for marlin... Congrats all, I believe we have 5 members of our group all at 95% or better for the entire contest. 2 Quote
