Super User Jrob78 Posted May 17, 2017 Super User Posted May 17, 2017 I chose poorly 618 after day 1 Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted May 18, 2017 Super User Posted May 18, 2017 WHY. DID. I. NOT. PICK. BRENT. EHRLER. Dang it lol, I literally had him, then Brett Hite, then him, and then in the end I went with Brett Hite because he did well for me at Toledo Bend. I knew one of them would do well. Made the wrong pick. I have: Faircloth Hite Reese Roumbanis Jordan Interesting facts: I did poorly today, yet I still increased in my percentage margins, telling me that a lot of people struggled. Maybe it was the top-rated bucket A pick (KVD) doing poorly, along with Hackney and Lefebre not showing out too strong. Also, look at last place. 7 pounds!! Even the loser caught 7 pounds of fish. That's crazy. Everyone caught them today. Quote
Super User Gundog Posted May 18, 2017 Super User Posted May 18, 2017 I have KVD, Combs, Martens, Powroznik, and Omori. The best out of that pack is Martens who is 33rd. Looks like a lot of guy that did very little in the first bunch of tourneys showed up for this one. Quote

Interesting facts: I did poorly today, yet I still increased in my percentage margins, telling me that a lot of people struggled. I did the opposite, I had Swindle, then thought about Ehrler on Conroe & at the TTBC, so I switched to him. The one I am kicking myself about is bucket A, instead of Lee or Faircloth, I took Lefebre. As far as the increase in percentage, I don't have proof but I believe a decent percentage of people didn't get their picks in on time (so they zero'd). Either they have now lost interest or they were the type who would post their picks on Wednesday nights and got a big surprise this evening. Last year, those folks were saved with the stupid auto-select feature. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted May 18, 2017 Super User Posted May 18, 2017 I looked at the results again this morning; how bout a Chris Lane sitting in the twenties with a nice bag of fish!! 1 Quote
BCline Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 After Day 1 I have two in the top 10 (Cherry and Faircloth) and two in the bottom 10 (Klein and Horton). That's balance! 1 Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted May 18, 2017 Super User Posted May 18, 2017 Something that I didn't really think about with the live release format....that could REALLY, really help some guys come Sunday. Like, it could be a difference maker. I have no doubt some of the fish released this week will be caught again by the weekend. 1 Quote

Lefebre is sitting in 54th place with 15lb. 8oz. on day one. I wouldn't call that a weak showing. I would say that the lake is fishing really well right now. 15.5 pounds is enough to put you on the top of the heap each day at most events! Quote

I wasn't trying to bash you, Seth. He's definitely still in the hunt for sure! I was saying that several of the popular picks in bucket A didn't necessarily knock the lights out on day one. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted May 18, 2017 Super User Posted May 18, 2017 Hey Justin @buzzed bait Kriet just caught an 8 pounder! 1 Quote

The first time I looked at the buckets for this tournament, I went straight to A and saw Faircloth, and I was like yeah I know who Justin's going to have for this one haha! Quote

Super User Jrob78 Posted May 18, 2017 Super User Posted May 18, 2017 I'm surprised at all the jerkbaits I'm seeing in the pics. Won't get to watch LIVE until Saturday. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted May 18, 2017 Super User Posted May 18, 2017 Kelly Jaye just caught two 3 pounders on one jerkbait. Hooked up, fish jumped, got it into the boat and had two fish on the bait. 1 Quote
CTBassin860 Posted May 18, 2017 Author Posted May 18, 2017 Defoe,Jordan,Roumbanis, and Combs moving on!! Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted May 19, 2017 Global Moderator Posted May 19, 2017 The second half of today didn't go so good. Ehrler, Christie, and surprisingly J-Pow Quote
Super User scaleface Posted May 19, 2017 Super User Posted May 19, 2017 I thought I had a bad first day . Day two , every one on my team dropped in the standings . 1 Quote
IndianaFinesse Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Got three in the cut, but nobody in the top 20. Kicking myself for picking Dave Lefebre instead of Jacob Wheeler, I had Wheeler on my team right up until Tuesday night and swapped him out on a false hunch. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted May 19, 2017 Super User Posted May 19, 2017 I've got Faircloth, Kelly Jordan, and Roumbanis in the top 50. Could be worse, could be better. Quote
Super User Gundog Posted May 19, 2017 Super User Posted May 19, 2017 Eh, 3 of my guys improved, 2 dropped like stones. Only 3 in the top 50 and none in the top 20. Next tourney I'm getting a monkey to pick them. Quote
OCdockskipper Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Ehrler, Martens & Jordan made the cut for me. Alton Jones Jr. took the lead for big bag & the extra 40 points (from Ehrler). Looking at the weights, I have a feeling an even bigger bag will be checked in on Friday. In fact, I will go out on a limb and predict Kelly Jordan will weigh in a 29+ lb bag tomorrow (he says with fingers crossed). A pair of 8 lb twins and 3 in the 4+ lb range. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted May 19, 2017 Super User Posted May 19, 2017 If I remember right, no one is fishing today due to the BASSFest format. I debated on picking Alton Jones Jr. because he has a strong history on this lake with the Texas Team trail, which is arguably one of the best tournament groups in the country right now. Ultimately I chose to steer clear due to his horrible recent finishes. My loss. Quote
