Only 2 of the 4 anglers fishing today improved their standings. Powroznik from 45th to 18th and Evers from 32nd to 25th. The other 2 lost ground. Other than that its nice to see the rookie Jamie Hartman show the veterans how its done.

Looks like a lot of us didn't do good on day 4. I had no one in the top 12 so I was out. On to Ross Barnett.

It was good to see Murray get the win today, as opposed to some of the guys that have been doing really well lately. Big hats off to him!

I fielded what felt like a low risk team this time and that's what happened: Everybody in the top 50, nobody on day 4:

Hackney 19

Combs 43

Edwin 25

J Pow 18

Skeet 34

Still in 4th among the BR Crew; 1696th overall for 94.6%.

@MIbassyaker looks about like how my picks turned out, with the exception of Morgenthaler tanking after taking 2nd last time on Toledo Bend.

19, 25, 29, 35 and a lowly 96...

I'd have to think that if Morgenthaler would have even made the day 3 cut, I would have still done decently in points this event.

I hadn't even heard of Ross Barnett, I don't even know what kind of lake it is yet.  Gonna have to do some research on it.

At least you had an angler in the top 12. All mine were taking the long train home on Sunday morning.

The only kind of history they have on it is a couple of opens in 2013 and 2015...however, I've found that open results tend to be a little misleading for elite series tournaments. There are some guys that do great in the opens (Stephen Browning would be an example of a good opens angler) but tank in the Elite series, and the other way around. Paul Elias is the closest thing we have to home lake advantage, but he said that hasn't fished the lake since back in the day when he was using an aluminum boat, so he doesn't see himself as having an advantage. I was able to dig up some old articles of his and it would appear he knows The Rez fairly well. That said, a lot of the elite guys visited it for the Open in 2015.

The reservoir is fairly small and has lily pads as the predominate cover - like lots and lots of lily pads. There are also a couple of big marinas with boat docks, and some rip rap banks up by the dam. There's also shallow backwater-looking creeks. It's definitely going to be a shallow water tournament I would imagine.

Edit: I mean recent history, there's been tournaments on it back in the 90s and earlier, probably. Bobby Murray won a Bassmaster Classic here.

Almost certainly a post-spawn tourney.

Here's something y'all may or may not find helpful:

"Among all the popular activities that go along with a lake or reservoir, bass fishing is the most popular sport on Ross Barnett. Other species such as spotted bass, crappie, and catfish attract lots of fishermen; bass fishing brings the most folks to the reservoir. With the size of Ross Barnett, there are quite a few different ways to catch bass.

In springtime, the fish are moving shallow for the spawn. You might have some difficulty finding the bass but once located you definitely want to plastic jerkbaits and floating trick style worms, smaller spinnerbaits, and lightly weighted lizards. Summertime brings on a great deal of vegetation in the reservoir. Lots of anglers are flipping the vegetation, working spinnerbaits, or dragging plastic frogs across the top of the vegetation. Fishermen also move out to the ledges with deep crankbaits and carolina-rigged plastics. You can also find schooling fish in many areas of the lake during summertime. Casting surface lures at the abundant schoolers can provide a lot of fun for the bass fisherman. The schooling bass carry over into the fall and fishermen also continue many of the same summertime patterns such as spinnerbaits and lures that work well in vegetation. If you are going to Ross Barnett in wintertime, be sure to have jigs with trailers, rattletraps, spinnerbaits, and worms on hand. These have historically been the best producers during the cold weather months."

I find it interesting. While doing a little research on this lake I came across the man it was named after. I dare say it should be renamed after doing a little reading on this guy.

We have a league that offers a winner for each tournament.  Even if you join late, there is still a chance to win.

If you offer a prize for dead last I stand a chance.

I had to back out of all my prize groups last year when I was leading a lot of them - I'm under 18, so I'm not eligible for any of the prize sweepstakes. I just play because I love the sport. Similar to the way that the Bassmaster employees all play fantasy fishing even though the rules say no employees of Bassmaster are eligible lol.

If you win something have it sent to my house and I'll send it back when you turn 18.
