Super User Jrob78 Posted April 2, 2017 Super User Posted April 2, 2017 That area is getting pounded with storms today. I imagine it will effect the first day or 2 of practice, especially guys looking for bed fish. Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted April 5, 2017 Global Moderator Posted April 5, 2017 Personally this has been the toughest picks so far. Quote
IndianaFinesse Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I'm still trying to decide if the shallow frog bite or a Carolina rig bite is going to be better... Quote
OCdockskipper Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 So I thought I came up with a good sleeper pick in bucket A, someone who has done real well the last two times at Toledo Bend and has an owner percentage of less than 2%. He wasn't really mentioned in the "pundit picks" on the fantasy fishing page, so I felt like my secret would stay quiet... Until BASS posts an article this morning called "Toledo Bend by the numbers". At the end of the story, they note that just 3 anglers have finished in the top 20 the last two times the Elite Series visited Toledo Bend; KVD (Bucket B, 52.9% ownership), Keith Combs (Bucket B, 10.7% ownership) and Hank Cherry (Bucket A, ***% ownership). Of course, Cherry was my sleeper, now out in the open for all non-researchers to see. Luckily there are only about 12 hours until the choices are locked in, hopefully there isn't a run on him and his ownership percentage stays below 3%. Oh yeah, I have Combs in bucket B too. I'm going to go throttle that writer... Quote
CTBassin860 Posted April 5, 2017 Author Posted April 5, 2017 Final answer for Toledo Bend.Thought about Chris Lane once again but he cant catch a cold right now. Defoe Combs Evers Palaniuk Zaldain 1 Quote
Super User Gundog Posted April 6, 2017 Super User Posted April 6, 2017 I got Hadid, Kerr, Swanepoel, Shayk, and Refaeli. Wait, that's my Fantasy Lingerie Model League. I really shouldn't get those 2 confused. BTW, Shayk had a great runway show at Milan last year so I expect her to repeat this year. The early Vegas money is on her. 1 Quote
IndianaFinesse Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 A: Jacob Wheeler. Probably should have picked Ott Defoe cause everyone knows he's going to do well, but what fun would that be? B: Dean Rojos, almost picked Mark Davis or KVD. C: Brett Hite, almost picked Stephen Kennedy. D: Jacob powriznik, never wanted to pick someone else. E: Cris Zaldian, almost picked Chris Lane but he can't seem to catch anything right now. Quote
moguy1973 Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Grigsby and Christie with 8lbers this morning already. Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted April 6, 2017 Super User Posted April 6, 2017 A. Cherry B. Mcclelland C. Hite D. Powroznik E. Morganthaler All hovering above or at the cut. A good cull and finishing a couple limits and they all should be top 50. Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted April 6, 2017 Global Moderator Posted April 6, 2017 A: Hackney B: KVD C: Ike D: Crochet E: Niggemyer Anything can happen especially on Toledo Bend. Quote
Diggs Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 A: DeFoe B: KVD C: Hite D: Powroznik E: Zaldain So so far. Middle of the pack I'm sure based on how ownership plays are performing. 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted April 6, 2017 Super User Posted April 6, 2017 A: Defoe B: KVD C: Kennedy D: Powroznik E: Lucas Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted April 6, 2017 Super User Posted April 6, 2017 A. Wheeler B. KVD C: Hite D. Palaniuk E: Lane I think Ott Defoe is going to be on my roster for every single other event of this season. I'm not sure why I didn't pick him. Overall, my guys are going decently right now on BassTrakk, although I really wish I had gone with Zaldain or Benton instead of Chris Lane. A lot better than some previous tournaments. I picked guys that had good track records; and tried to keep momentum in mind. Although, Chris Lane was obviously an exception to that. I wanted to pick Combs, but just didn't like his first couple events since he's been on my roster both times since Okeechobee and flopped. Seems like the bucket E choice is going to be the difference maker for this tournament. I chose poorly, it would seem. However, one day can really turn you around for this tournament. The ten pounders are out there. Also, I just learned that Brett Hite is unofficially in the lead so that makes me really happy!!!! I knew the conditions this week would set up well for him. 2 Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted April 6, 2017 Super User Posted April 6, 2017 .05 picked Mcclelland Dude won an open at LOTO and in interviews was super pumped about preparing for toledo bend. So far is in 27th at the moment. I have faith that he will provide value for his percentage. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted April 6, 2017 Super User Posted April 6, 2017 I went with Chad Morgenthaler in bucket E. The guy finished 2nd at the Elite event on Toledo Bend in 2014 and somehow only had 1.47% of the picks for bucket E. I thought I had a top secret pick for this one. He's currently sitting in 45th and is my worst performing pick so far. Bummer. Hackney, Van Dam, Evers, Chapman, Morgenthaler. Quote
MSWV Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 A. Wheeler B. Combs C: Evers D. Card E: Biffle I seem to be doing a little better but not great so far... I kinda thought Combs would make a run at AOY but Defoe looks to be the guy right now Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted April 6, 2017 Super User Posted April 6, 2017 Defoe and Lefebre are both having outstanding years. I wouldn't mind seeing either of them win AOY. 1 Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted April 6, 2017 Super User Posted April 6, 2017 Jacob Wheeler and Hite now both unofficially in first and second!!!! 1 Quote

Unofficially have two in the top 3 and everyone is in the top 51. 1 Quote
CDMeyer Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Definitly fun! But stupid NCAA bans it hahaha so I guess it will be four years before I try it again haha Quote

Only takes one good bass and he will set up well to fish 3 days...and for bucket E getting to Saturday will beat out most if not all other picks. Quote

I know some of the guys with 0 fish have some in their livewell, coverage is poor out there. Also, look how stacked the weights are. I don't pay close attention to it but this is one of the closest stacked tourneys I've seen for a while. One 5 pounder - of which there are many out there - could launch someone over 30 places in the standings. Quote

Oh, I didn't realize it was considered gambling since there's no money involved. 1 Quote
