dneedham Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 I joined. It was fun last year no matter how bad I finished! Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted February 1, 2017 Super User Posted February 1, 2017 It was so hard not to pick Aaron Martens this time but I had to go with another guy. This one looks right up his alley. If he kills it then I'm going to kill myself haha. 4 Quote

Cherokee's going to play more to Aarons strengths, but Ott defoe has a fair amount of past experience on the lake. Haven't decided which one I think will do better. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted February 1, 2017 Super User Posted February 1, 2017 I threw my name into the ring. Good luck this year guys! 2 Quote
Diggs Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Having a hard time pulling the trigger on anyone in B. Plenty of good anglers but I'm not sure anyone is a cut above the rest in these conditions. Quote
Steelbill Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 I've added to our total, this is my 1st time playing. Good Luck guys. 1 Quote

PS - Ugh, FLW already had their first event Feb 2-5, the fantasy site must have just gotten activated a week or so prior. Quote

Super User Senko lover Posted February 8, 2017 Super User Posted February 8, 2017 Today is the day for me as a fantasy nerd where I have so much uncertainty about my choices - reevaluating everything and sometimes completely switching up my game plan. My approach so far has been not to go with risky choices and to play this one with favorites since it's the first tournament, but at the same time I do want to stand out of the crowd so it's a tough call. 2 Quote

All of this rain they've been getting has got have muddied up the water, and I wish I knew how much. I'm still going back and forth between a couple anglers in A, ones a clear water stick and the other prefers stained water. Quote
MSWV Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 There will be alot of changes in this tournament, IMO.. Im predicting deep smallmouth for tomorrow.. 30' deep on a damiki rig or dropshot but by sunday they will be cranking & fishing for largemouth. Ive also been changing my lineup daily..hehe 1 Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted February 8, 2017 Super User Posted February 8, 2017 Bucket A is just absolutely killing me this time. I can take or leave a good amount of the other buckets, but this one. There's Gerald Swindle, who is a killer jerkbait and crankbait fisherman. There's Edwin Evers, who I really feel will do well. Ott Defoe, who fishes this lake nonstop every winter for the last few years. Justin Lucas, Aaron Martens, the list could go on. I hate it haha. 1 Quote

Well, as you surely know by now, rarely does your Bucket A choice separate you from the crowd. Often there are 7 or 8 guys in this bucket who end up within 30 points of each other. AMart was an exception a couple of years ago on the Potomac when he led all 4 days and had both the largest bag and the largest fish. A perfect 400 point performance...that 30% of the participants chose . No, the separation often comes from buckets C, D or E. Either an average Elite has a great day, ends up with big bag & coasts to the top 12 while everyone else in that bucket misses the cut or an above average Elite that has been in a slump breaks out. Edwin Evers did the latter back in 2015, he started out the season slow & was mired down in Bucket D I believe when he ran off a string of 3 great tournaments. It started on Havasu (big bag, top 5 finish), continued on Kentucky Lake with a win and then another win on the St. Lawrence. By the time that string was over, he was back up in Bucket A, but he had huge point advantages over the next closest angler in his bucket as he made that climb. Of course, after picking him at Havasu, I played the "No one goes back to back in the Elite series" theory and missed taking advantage of his next 2 performances... 2 Quote
Diggs Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Making those last second changes always kills me in fantasy football, so trying not to do the same tonight. It's hard... but I expected a wide range of conditions given how unseasonably warm this winter has been. Great points on Bucket A not being where the tournament is won. Quote
bonzai22 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I joined the group a few days ago I did a few tournaments last year and did alright. Curious to see who does well in this tournament. Quote
