Will the 7:1 gears from a Core 51Mg7 or Curado 201E7 fit in a Chronarch 51E?  And is the difference between the original 6.4:1 gears and the 7:1 worth it if I can?

Thanks,

Dave

Yup,  the core 51 gears will fit.  may need the drag washer as well.  you will go from 25ipt to 28ipt.

A gear set from a 51 series reel will be fine however you can't use a 200 sized reel. You may able to source the 7:7.1 gears from the JDM Brenious in Japan. I have used both of the above gear speed upgrades with no problem.

I don't know what the literature claims, but my Chronarch 51e consistently moves 22.5 ipt with about 30' of line out.  I've checked it several times.

Just did this with my curado 50e. You need the main gear, pinion gear, and drag washer from a core 51mg7.

The core parts should still be available right from Shimano

They are.  I think the cost for all three parts was right at $40

Order them from Brian at the TackleTrap. Parts are available on their site. Cheaper than shimano and use code TT10 for a discount, too.
