Well, after I carved the bass, I decided to try a couple more just to see if I could really do this. I believe I'm getting better, and I am really enjoying this. Something interesting to do in the off season. 7 degrees here in Cincinnati this morning.

Good carvings. Looks like you are getting better with each one.

Looking forward to more pics later this month and into the future.

Very cool! The bear is super neat.  What kind of knife,  tools are you using? What type of wood?

Seriously, how long have you really been doing this? If you honestly just picked up a knife and carved that without a lot of practice, I am truly amazed. Beautiful.

I am using Flexcut carving knives. The wood is basswood. What else....BASSwood...lol. My first one,

the little bass, I did with a pocketknife.

The boot was my second carving, the bear my third. That is all I have done so far. I honestly had never carved anything before in my life.

The bear is great....watched "Alone" last night and it reminded me of the guy who also did carving.  Too bad ya can't fish.  Next think you know you'll be carving the next "Super Spook".
