samwise2u Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Mid day to after sunset when Dad would take me pier fishing in Galveston. Been a morning fisherman all my adult life. Always fished the shallows too. I would deaux good first thing in the mornings but as the sun was getting higher the bite would drop. Sometimes would launch hours before sunrise but the bite does not seem to be as good as sunrise. Have been night fishing several times, in fact my sons PB, 5.3, was caught about 2am on a dock with a night light, full moon that night also. After reading this article and "Night Bassing ~ A-Jay's version" I might just have to try some more during the dog days of summer here in the south. Quote
mwh33 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 I feel like I do better in the morning, but most of my big fish came between 10am to 3pm. That being said I have caught plenty of fish in the evening. Time of year also plays in. Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted January 13, 2017 Super User Posted January 13, 2017 I love topwater fishing. The bites on topwater generally increase toward evening. In the morning, they generally decrease as the day goes on. So there's that. 1 Quote
nascar2428 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 It's definitely the morning for me, less people to contend with while fishing the bank. Quote
