d-camarena Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 I saw a couple videos on it, its basically the swimbait reeinvented. Actually, its basically just a regular old swimbait. I dont know why but i actually want to buy it. I like the profile of it and the plastic head and rattles on the hook. Maybe the ads did their job and hooked me instead of the fish. My wallet is ready 2 Quote
"hamma" Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 The only reference I've seen so far was a in-fisherman show. And from what I saw? its far from a "regular old swimbait" in my opinion I still have some old sassy shads from the 80's, and although they still work, and I do use them. Their all you got in a bag, no jigheads, and rattles? needed to be added, and the action? was mainly just the tail wiggle. Maybe its a older angler thing, but I was impressed by the action, built-in rattle, and the newer longer bodied plastic.(like a keitech) I do have some of the previous storm swimbaits with the built-in hook and weight that are the 3/4 oz size shad pattern, and about 3-4 inches long,.. that I use for casting at stripers here on the bridges and piers in the salt water. And the stripers are suckers for them. And yeah they do work for freshwater bass as well, but rattles, and the swimming action? Even a step up from my striper lure as far as I can see. Here,.. there is a lead ban, and I can see this being a good lure for us as a weighted hook "must" be less than 1 oz, so,.. many swimbait hooks that offer a swimming action to their plastics? cant be used at all, unless its a eco friendly version, which I've yet to see. This may be a answer for "eco-friendly states" 2 Quote
Zach Winn Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Has any one tried these? Seeing ads everywhere and Wheeler was using them this past weekend at Cherokee. Quote
j bab Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 They're just swimbaits, man. Expensive ones at that. Don't do it. 6 Quote
CTBassin860 Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 They are like 6 bucks for 3 with the jig head.Hardly expensive.I got a couple packs but haven't got to fish them yet. 1 Quote

Super User MickD Posted February 15, 2017 Super User Posted February 15, 2017 I agree that what I put together looks very much like the 360, and a lot cheaper, but I AM going to try them. If there is something I cannot see about them, but is very effective, I'm not going to miss it. A few bucks to make an INFORMED decision rather than an educated guess is worth it. Didn't I see someone stretching one way out, like the Z-man material? The ones I put together won't do that. But I have to admit, the videos really look a lot like a bullet jig with a Strike King 4 inch swim bait. (which is very effective). 1 Quote

d-camarena Posted February 15, 2017 Author Posted February 15, 2017 I have been using these a lot. Catches the same fish and small swimbait will catch. The difference is the rattle, head made of plastic and the tail material lasts for a lot more fish than other swimbaits 1 Quote
blckshirt98 Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 The local tackle shop got a bunch of these in and I took a look at them but didn't pull the trigger. The way the body fits in seamlessly with the head is nice, but other than that didn't see anything that made me want to pull the trigger. Quote
punch Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 I'll give them a whirl for kicks.. might be a good thing for my kids to toss as it's "turn key". Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 20, 2017 Super User Posted February 20, 2017 Storm plastic is pretty durable. I can see these being a decent bait without breaking the bank. Quote
Super User Gundog Posted April 23, 2017 Super User Posted April 23, 2017 Bringing back this thread for a few questions. Has anybody fished these for awhile? Are they durable? I've been wondering about the heads and hooks on these baits. Any problems with bending hooks or chipping paint? Quote
CTBassin860 Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 I still havent used them yet.Im breaking them out next week though.Someone said the heads are plastic.Since i have only seen the pre-rigged packs and not a pack of replacements i wonder if the heads are just meant to be disposable. You would amass a bunch of swim heads pretty quick buying them. I would be more worried about losing the singe special jighead and then having the plastics left over. But, I do fish a lead-ban lake, so I might end up trying a pack, I have spent $6 on dumber stuff before. 1 Quote
RHuff Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 Not only do they rattle and kick at the tail but they also roll side to side.... i got the 2.5 smallest ones to sample but when I get another pack I will definately go a size or two bigger.. Quote

punch Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 I'll admit it.. I grabbed a few packages when they were 25% off at Cabela's. I literally bought them for one reason, to tie onto my kids rods for a "turn key" swimbait solution. At least that's what I tell myself to justify it when I have like 20 packages of Keitech's stashed away. 1 Quote
PaBassMan13 Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 I was very skeptical about this bait but I guess I watched enough YouTube videos to leave an impression. I typically do not fish swim baits so this was a whole new world to me. I ordered numerous patterns in the 3.8" version and was pretty impressed when they arrived. I took them out on a pond that first weekend and was instantly hooked on them. Not only did I catch Bass; I caught a lot of Bass. The action on these is awesome; the tail kicks real well but the bait wobbles back and forth quite a bit as well. It almost reminds me of the searching action of a 2.5 square bill. The durability of the plastic is great; after many bass there's not a single mark on the bait let along any type of tears etc. I had numerous bluegills hit the bait too but they were not able to tear off the paddle tail. I just ordered 6 more packs of these; it's time to start stocking up now. I did snag one of the baits and lost it so I have two tails left in that color but no heads any longer so when they start offering the replacement heads that will certainly be a good thing. 1 Quote
OCdockskipper Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 I may have gotten too skeptical as I age, but when the first post of a new member (who doesn't list any personal info) is to rave about how great a bait or some equipment is and then recites some of the bullet points the marketing department made up for the product, I immediately disregard the testimonial as a plant from the manufacturer. And I like the Storm 360GT!! 1 Quote

Super User Choporoz Posted April 27, 2017 Super User Posted April 27, 2017 @PaBassMan13, I don't think that he meant it personally. I feel the same way, and it is in no way, personal. It is hard to read a review about anything on the interwebs without imagining what unstated motives, biases, etc. are lurking in the background. I particularly hate that many paid reviews don't state as much....just raises the skepticism level all the more As to the baits, I have a personal bias against most Storm baits. Or rather, maybe its just a lack of confidence. I've used many, especially pre-rigged soft baits, and never experienced much success...that lack of prior success with totally different baits colors my judgement against these new baits. Unfair? Probably...oh well Quote
