Hez Posted January 4, 2017 Posted January 4, 2017 I'm excited to begin reading and digesting the info inside 8 Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted January 4, 2017 Super User Posted January 4, 2017 Good deal! Take your time though I think it's impossible to digest it all in the first reading. Even after many, many years, I still find small things that I overlooked or simply couldn't understand properly the first times through. My reading copy is highlighted, page marked, and referenced constantly -T9 5 Quote

mixel Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Cover reminds me of those old Disney outdoor films that were narrated. Looks like a really cool book. Might have to pick up a copy. 1 Quote
bassinhole Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Certainly worth it the buy. Perry's writing style is entertaining while also very informative. 1 Quote
XzyluM Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 I plan on picking up a copy of this book soon after hearing all the interesting things being said about it. 1 Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 6, 2017 Super User Posted January 6, 2017 Y'all think reading that will make winter pass easier? Wrong! Now y'all gonna wanna get on the water to apply what ya read! 3 Quote

MFBAB Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Ha ha, I hope it grabs a-hold of you! One of the first things "Buck Sez" is that he's not a writer, and he's got the writing style to prove it. But there's a wealth of info in there. As Team9 said, it's one of those re-read sort of deals, things from this book will sort of "hit" you at odd times like the middle of the night or during a slow fishing trip, etc... 2 Quote

Yep, and one other comment for all you guys reading it for the first time. Don't hesitate to ask questions when you come across stuff that doesn't make sense or needs clarification - because you will have questions - -T9 3 Quote

When in reality, it is so much more .. .. .. .. A-Jay 2 Quote
IndianaFinesse Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Are there any sites that have them for less than 20$? I looked at quite a few different places and couldn't find anything less than that, but it seems like there should be some more reasonably priced than $20. 1 Quote

Nope, not unless you get lucky and find one online or in an old book store or garage sale where they might not know the value -T9 1 Quote

I ordered mine today on eBay for $22, but shipping was $11. This was directly from Buck Perry website though. I inquired about the shipping and they use two day priority with insurance so it makes sense. I did a bit of searching and did not find it any cheaper, so your best bet is probably to order directly from them on eBay. 6 hours ago, Catt said: We don't either but it's 37 & dropping Same here except we have a rare winter storm coming through that dropped temperatures below freezing here and ice everywhere. Supposed to be back in the 70s next week. ? 1 Quote
DrMarlboro92 Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Has anyone ever noticed that the older fishing guides and books are considerably outdated? I tried reading up on a few bodies of water, and a few older books on presentations, and just bass in general, And it seemed like everything in them was quite.... wrong. Now, I expected the ones that were issued about a specific body of water would be terribly inaccurate, but the others I was in shocking disbelief. Is this book any different in that aspect? If it is I might pick one up for some light reading. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted January 7, 2017 Super User Posted January 7, 2017 I read that book back in the '70's when I got my first tin boat. You can still get all Buck's products here: http://buckperry.com/ 2 Quote

IndianaFinesse Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Well, I just ordered a copy of spoonplugging . Hopefully it's worth it, it sounds like it will be. Never paid that much for a book before. 1 Quote

In the long run, if read with an open mind and a willingness to put it into practice, it will catch you a lot more bass (and all other types of fish) than a Megabass jerkbait will for the same amount of $$ lol -T9 1 Quote

I'm gonna swing by Half Price books and see if I can't get lucky with a copy there. I've picked up most of the fishing/hunting/guns books and magazines at their stores for considerable discounts. 1 Quote
