Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 3, 2017 Global Moderator Posted January 3, 2017 Definitely not my target species, but it sure was a fun fight! Right at 22 pounds, kicked off my new years and continued attempt to learn blade baits with a bang! 15 Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted January 3, 2017 Super User Posted January 3, 2017 Congrats? Is that the right word here? Lol! That sure is an ugly fish to about everyone but mother drum. At any rate that one is massive and a PB is a PB so congrats my friend! 2 Quote
Super User Darren. Posted January 3, 2017 Super User Posted January 3, 2017 Well dang, Blue! Start off the New Year with a PB. Not bad at all, I'd say! 1 Quote

jr231 Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 I don't think drum are ugly at all ? I don't know why everyone says that.. the only thing that is disturbing to me is their teeth... But from this view . I don't know why people insist they are ugly. Looks like fun to me. 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted January 3, 2017 Super User Posted January 3, 2017 I thought you had a Redfish at first glance . 2 Quote

Everytime I catch one of those........ Congrats on the new PB! Jeff Me too usually, but there was no way this one was going to be a bass. I was hoping for a monster wiper, then a big blue, but it was still a fun fight and pretty neat catch. At least I caught a fish on a blade bait to keep me going with them. 1 Quote

Still a good tackle tester - what rod was that ? A-Jay 1 Quote

A-Jay That was a 7' MH Lightning Rod Shock with a Pflueger President baitcaster. It was actually my first cast with the whole setup. Ffo had the rods for $22 buy one get one half off, couldn't really pass them up at that price. 3 Quote

And you're hooking PB's right from the Git-go. (not exactly sure what Git-go really is but I say it all the time) .. .. .. A-Jay 1 Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted January 5, 2017 Super User Posted January 5, 2017 Nice! I'd rather catch those than than all the d**n pike I get. 22lbs! wow, nice fish! My biggest drum might have gone 3lb. Never caught one chasing bass but I have caught them fishing carp/suckers in the river. 1 Quote
Al Wolbach Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Wow, very nice fish. That is far larger than any drum I have caught. Great fish... 1 Quote
