Tackle Warehouse has the Zillion TWS on sale right now, and at that price it's been calling my name.  But is there another reel out there that is as good for the money?  Does anyone here have the Zillion TWS and a Curado 71 they can provide comparison feedback on?  Or maybe a red Scorpion 1001XT.  I have both the Scorpion 1001XT and Scorpion 71, as well as a Chronarch 51E and Core 51Mg7.  I also have a Daiwa Alphas and a Pixy, if you could compare to either of those.  Just looking for comparison to something I already am familiar with.

If someone could provide feedback on the Zillion compared to any of these reels, I would appreciate it.

I believe that reel will be $112.50 tomorrow around noon.  Can't help you comparing them, but the price says you should add it to the stable.

At this price who cares if it isn't quite as good as the other reels you (OP) mentioned?  I don't have a Zillion TWS although I do have Zillions and TWS reels.  Did you read TT's review of the Zillion TWS?  I have a Pixy, several Alphas reels, Curado 51Es, a Scorpion 1001 4x4 SVS, but no 70 series of any model.  I think I can safely say that the Zillion will not handle light baits like the other reels you mentioned.  But then it doesn't need to since you already have plenty of reels that will.  Buy it.  Stick in on a MH rod and enjoy.

I didn't mean to imply that the Zillion TWS isn't as nice as the others.  Zero experience with it, but if it is as nice as my older Zillions. then it will be a fine reel.  My 50th Anniversary Zillion is one of my favorite reels.  I prefer it to my Curado 51Es even though it isn't capable of lighter lures the 51E can handle.

EDIT:  The Zillion TWS measured 18 lbs. of drag.  I know most of the reels you mentioned have less.  Kind of doubt any come close.

Read the TT review of the zillion TWS. There's a reason it wasn't that popular. If you want a zillion to own a zillion, find an OG zillion, sv103, or the new zillion TW SV in the ct frame. 112$ is an appropriate price for it.

To be fair it seemed the things TT had issues with were more less-critical things and more to do with how it compared to the rest of the Diawa line before it. Internally and functionally they didn't really say much bad about it.

Get a Tatula CT on Ebay if you want a Daiwa with TWS at a reasonable price.  It will compare much more favorably to the reels you mentioned.  The Zillion TW that is on sale right now is a fairly large reel and that frame size is being phased out.

There is very little performance between the original tatula and zillion tws justify the price difference. Especially when the tatula, both gen 1 and current CT can be found for 80-90$. You get an upgraded tws line guide and drag star. Side by side you wont be able to tell the difference. That said, if you are okay with the larger previous tatula/zillion tws frame, 112$ is a fair deal. On paper, you're getting a great deal. Performace wise , you arent. I wouldnt pay over the sale price for it.

Personally I don't palm reels like some guys like to do so the slightly bulkier frames don't concern me. I'll probably end up picking up the 5.5 ratio for a cranking set up and the sale price is there. Also I don't own any but the Tatulas don't have the free floating spool do they? I have to imagine that gives some edge even if it is minimal.

Edit* I read the TT comparison between the Zillion TWS and the Tatula's and to be fair the Zillion is very similar but I see nothing negative about the differences that do exist, an upgraded (however minimally) Tatula for around 100 bucks...I don't see how you could go wrong. Seeing the differences the original 300 dollar price tag is not justified but when dropped down into the price range of the Tatula it seems like a no-brainer.

I love my zillion tws's. They are a bit bigger than the curado 70 but they still palm fine for me and I have small hands.  They cast great, are smooth, and have a great drag.  Def worth it.

I believe TW has gift cards at 10% off right now too.So you could get 115$ gift card for 103.50.Then use the card to buy the zillion for 103.50
