Fishnski48 Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Pine Box Boys Sound ok ..kind of like a house band Quote
Bass Rutten Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 I did my duty and watched the entire video. I’m going to refrain from scoring it so as to not offend anyone ? 1 Quote

Jaco is my #1 influence, and I play drums. Sounds weird, but yep. ^^^I like them separately, together is a little over the top, so I'll give it a 6. Some soul for a Monday morning. 1 Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted September 28, 2020 Super User Posted September 28, 2020 ^6. Love Pink Floyd but without the track that follows it's just lacking Quote
Super User J Francho Posted September 28, 2020 Super User Posted September 28, 2020 Sounds like Nickelback meets Alice in Chains - not my thing. 3.5 The most metal thing I've heard in my life: 1 Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted September 28, 2020 Super User Posted September 28, 2020 ^10. Classic... that riff is so evil that it summons up demons from hell every time it is played. I do get the Alice in Chains in Zakk's singing for sure (although much less than other tracks) but Nickelback? While we're on metal... Quote

Growing up, I was more a prog fan, but Iron Maiden was my jam for real metal, so you get a 10 for your latest. I've been listening to a lot of other things, trying to break out of my 10 year intense jazz rut. I always go back to the lead off track from Sabbath. It's like hearing the birth of modern metal. 10^^^ Here's a quick live one since we're on a metal kick. 1 Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted September 29, 2020 Super User Posted September 29, 2020 ^10 On a similar vibe... Quote
Bass Rutten Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 ^7 Good to see some fellow metal heads here. For anyone who hasn’t listened to anthrax’s recent efforts I’d highly recommend doing so, their last two albums imo are their best work by a good margin and their old stuff wasn’t too bad. 2 Quote

Super User Sam Posted September 29, 2020 Super User Posted September 29, 2020 While we are getting cultured check this one out. Excellent opera in English. And this one is a classic! Quote
Super User jimmyjoe Posted September 29, 2020 Super User Posted September 29, 2020 ^^^ I give it a 7, a la Bandstand. I like this version better: Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted October 7, 2020 Super User Posted October 7, 2020 ^10 On a related note, here's Dweezil Zappa talking about meeting his childhood hero and playing his guitar at his school talent show when he was 12 and then playing Eruption. I imagine he was the coolest 12 year old or whatever in town... 1 Quote
Bass Rutten Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 I seen satriani, johnson and vai on the first g3 tour in chicago in 96, what a show. He’s still got it! 1 Quote
