My first question is.... does anyone have any tricks on replacing the rope to pull up the motor? I have had to replace this rope about once a year and it is always a pain in the arse.

My second question is.... has anyone ever used something else besides that crappy rope? Sure there is something I could use that would be more durable.

My third question is.... if I do need to buy the same rope, does anyone know where I can buy that rope online? I usually have to go to Cabelas which is about an hour away.

Thanks!

Go to your local mower shop and get lawnmower starter rope. No need to pay Cabela's prices for a hank of starter rope.

BTW, I just recently picked up a MK trolling motor and the first thing I did was change out the crappy plastic pull handle. Every time you bumped it with your foot the sound would telescope straight through the fiberglass deck and it made a racket. I got a wooden handle on there now which is better, but am looking for a good rubber handle for comfort and quietness when dropping it on the deck.

Mine broke last year and I just used a piece of cotton rope.  (dont suggest it) but it was an on the water repair.  I really still need to fix that.  Like said above get a piece of mower rope.
