Chrome and gold if I could just pick two. I'd rather have different sizes than different colors.

This one works for me anytime. Red Eye Shad, in orange craw.

SK Red Eye Shad in Chili craw is my favorite in the early spring cold water (<50 degrees up to the mid 50 degree range) if the water has got some color to it. If it's clear the Japanese Shad color works well. A wild card color that seems to work very well at times for me is Albino Craw.

Once the water temps around here get into the mid 50's the lipless baits get put away and out come the squarebills. I have no doubt that lipless cranks would still be very effective, but it's hard to argue with past results that tell me to make the switch round about this time.

Chrome w/ blue back, followed by natural craw color in clear water.  Smokey Joe in muddy or stained water.

It's hard to pick one favorite. The ones that I use the most are:

Chrome/blue back

Gold/black back

Red/orange craw

I like a lot of colors but my favorites are Tennessee Shad and Royale (purple shad color). I stick to semi offbeat colors because I figure they've seen a lot of chrome blue back and so I switch it up a little. I think as long as it matches somewhat whatever they are eating you should be fine. I think the action of a lipless bait is why they get bit, not so much the color.

I have a box full but, really only need:

Chrome w/ black back

Chrome w/ blue back

Gold w/ black back

Others work well but these are my favorite.

The ghost or ghost shad (Yozuri) on Lake St Clair and Saginaw Bay for smallies.  Firetiger if the water is stained.

Blue/Chrome in Clearwater conditions. Gold/Black in stained to murky water. I have also found that 1/4 oz lures are better in Clearwater but 1/2 oz work well as clarity decreases
