Rob can kick rocks though. Sigh...dunno about that GM. With current situation, he is in power and likely will ruin certain coaching candidates... Quote

I've not been a fan of Russ Brandon but I have liked some of the things Whaley has done... But I read a Buffalo News article last night that A. Lynn is most likely Doug's candidate because Doug wants control of the roster and unlikely that any other candidate will want to cede that. So with that in mind, it may be a good thing for Pegs to clean house and start fresh. But what do I know...I've only loved this team since I was a kid. Went to a few of their games in the early 90s including an AFC Championship. I'm just a fan not a manager. 1 Quote
primetime Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 As a Jet's Fan I will take Rex Ryan back any day. If the Jet's front Office didn't Knee cap him, we could of built a much better team. He lost all power, had a terrible GM drafting picks he didn't want, made him coach 2 years 30 million under cap with Gino. Rex took the Jet's two 2 AFC Championships with a Rookie QB Mark Sanchez who is nothing more than a borderline 2nd to 3rd string QB, picked up some of the Ravens who all love playing for him, so I look at the Jet's and Bills and I say. The Bills have not won or been in the playoffs since the game vs. Titans if I remember correctly. Nobody has had success, but I would take Rex back any day. He just needs to get better with time management & Penalties, The Bills will fall into the same old pattern if you dump Rex. You don't take the Jet's 2 Championship games if you can't coach. Winning Franchises stick with Coaches, Maybe if the Browns would have not fired Belicheck after going 9-7 in his 3rd year, they could be the best franchise in the NFL. Steelers, Giants...Few examples of teams that stick with coaches, systems and do not over react to a .500 season when the team has young talent with clear holes that can be fixed. I hope the Bill's get rid of him because that makes them an easier game for the Jet's, but Rex will get hired by the Rams if he wants. New stadium, they need a coach like him, LA, Jeff Fisher just got stuck without a QB. No QB, you don't win unless you have a once in a decade Defense. Every team that is good each year, has one thing in common. Good QB. Can't blame it all on Rex. GM, Ownership, Scouts, Coordinators all matter just as much. Just my take as a life long suffering Jet's Fan. On 12/27/2016 at 1:55 PM, J Francho said: The problem is no one is allowed to fail, and learn from their mistakes. The Bills already suck, and have for years let their fans down. Maybe try building an organization that learns how to win. Oh, never mind, just mortgage it all away with trades for boom or (mostly) bust early draft picks. As a Jet's Fan who took us to 2 AFC Championships in a row with Mark Sanchez and a GM who knee capped him with players he didn't want, $30 Million under the cap so he would lose, Rex is not the issue. Teams that win consistently have a system, Steelers, Giants have bad seasons but don't overcompensate. Browns fired Belichek after going 9-7 in 3 years. Bet they regret that now. Teams need a QB to be good. Or a once in a decade Defense & running game. Rex has issues with Clock Management, too many penalties, but the Bills have much bigger problems than a coach. Maybe they can sign Jeff Fisher who is a good coach, Rex will be hired again because he sells tickets & has shown he can win. I would take him back in a heartbeat for the Jet's. Nobody can win with Gino Smith or Fitzpatrick. Rams will hire rex to fill the new stadium in LA if Rex is ok with Goeff as a QB. Bills can't keep doing the 3 and done with coaches. Should have never unloaded Polian imo. Just my take. NFL is different now, most teams are all really close in talent, Bills could be fixed if they knew how to draft. Quote

But considering the absurdity of Jeff Fisher's record as bad as it was for as long as it was I'd be unwilling to say that even Jeff Fisher was done. Quote

Rex is a blowhard, all talk and no action. Players love him because he acts like one of them. He is the coach and leading by his example has produced the undisciplined, back stabbing, talking without thinking, get the money but not produce, mess this team is today. I feel sorry for Todd Bowles as he has not been able to, nor appears to be able to get this team on track. Woody Johnson the owner has made some terrible choices with coaches and GM's. He is the main problem if you ask me. Quote

Steelers coach, tomlinson, has had big ben his entire coaching career...giants tanked coughlin after a bad year..not the 2 best examples to use. Rex was successful his first couple of years with the jets because he had a good o line and a stellar d..he poached some good talent from the ravens as he knew them. His offensive game plan requires a good back and a good o line, and without a good d any team is sunk, and i don't think he has had any of those since his first couple years with the jets. I also think he benefitted from being a new guy, and his bluster worked on that team for 2 years, then it went downhill, quickly. I think he need to take on a DC role somewhere, that would be his strong suit. Quote
