Here’s another method! Just received my Kistler Series one reel and low and behold, a line size dial.

I have a lined tablet that I List all my reels and the line that's on them. I leave enough space in case I change the line, and then mark the new line on that reel.

Certain rigs get certain line sizes.  Baitcasters that I fish with jigs, big Texas rigs, and large moving baits get 15#.  Spinning reels get 10#, and the ML and UL get 6#.  I have extra spools for the spinning reels if I need 8# lines added.
