I've tried the search function with no success.   Got a question.   What rod/reel/ line combinations work best for fishing Preacher Jigs?  I've got to go to work soon and I'll check back tomorrow or the next day.

I've read that a 7'-7'6" MH rod, 7.1:1 or faster reel, and 12-17lb fluoro is the ticket. I'm not a known hair jig fisherman, but that's what I read.

I use a 7 foot 6 MH with a high speed MGX and 15lb red label. I have thrown it on a 7-11 heavy rod a few times and prefer the MH.

I have a dedicated setup for hair jigs and flutter spoons and it's very similar. 7'6" MH/F Phenix Recon 2, Lews Heavy Duty 7.1:1, and 14lb Shooter fluoro. It's the only setup I have that runs straight fluoro.

For me, I like a rod with a short handle section for these techniques so I can pick up more line when I get bit.
