I love Powerbait alot.

Especially the Chigger Craws and the Power Worms.

I always wondered what is inside the Powerbait that makes it stand out then the rest of the other baits.

Does anyone has an Idea what are the Ingredients in the Powerbait?

Berkley Powerbait formula is a closely held trade secret.

Invented in 1988 John Prochnol a Berkley Chemist came up with the formula originally for trout bait.

Pretty sure that's what they do with everything they get out of Port-o-Potties.

Not sure, but I have always thought theirs were the nastiest smelling baits out there, but I'm not a fish so my opinion doesn't count for much.

Looks like they seem to put Squid? or Shrimp in the Powerbait. I can smell it when opening a bag of em.

It certainly could include those ingredients, but I'm sure it isn't just one thing. As WRB pointed out, it's a formula they came up with.

When I was in my late teens-early 20s, my brother and I would bring 3 or 4 bags of power worms, tequila sunrise or red shads, some split shot and snelled eagle claw hooks..thats all we needed to pull countless bass from wherever we fished. By the end of the day we absolutely stunk.

I am not supposed to tell anyone but the secret ingredient in Berkley Powerbait is a substance code named "Soylent Green".

Those are some good ribbon tail worms. I catch more citation sized largemouth on those 10" worms during the summer months than on all other presentations combined.

Just imagine how good powerbait will be once Chuck Norris dies.

Now there's a Christmassy thought, sorry Chuck.

After having worked in the manufacturing of it for several years, I merely have to wade a few feet into the water and can dip a limit from around my feet with a dip net...

Black, Black w/ chartreuse tail, pumpkin seed, ps w/ chart. tail, green pumpkin, camo, and shad 4" power worms. Along with some light wire 1/0 gammie worm hooks and #7 splitshot is all a newbie guy needs to start out worm fishing.

If bass are hitting you could put all this in a ziploc bag and away you go.
