Lunkers2 Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 I have only used Seaguar Red Label. I just wanted to get peoples opinion between the 3 different fluorocarbons. Tastsu is just way to for me. Quote
Kidflex Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 abraz-x for the tough stuff and heavier poundage. Invis-x for lighter applications as it is more limp. 1 Quote
Logan S Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Red Label = Good all around line for a good price, but does not last as long the others before getting brittle and coiled. InvisX = Very limp and easy to cast, good for spinning tackle especially. More stretch than the other 2 but it's not too bad overall. AbrasX = Excellent all around line. A little stiffer but not too bad, especially if you're used to RL as a main line. Only drawback is the price. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I use mostly Red Label personally...With some AbrasX in 17 or 20 lb here and there. I respool frequently anyway so the shorter life of RL doesn't bother me too much. 1 Quote
thebillsman Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 InvisX is great stuff. As far as FCs go, its the only line I use. 2 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 22, 2016 Super User Posted December 22, 2016 I don't use a lot of fluorocarbon for heavier applications, and if I use a leader, it's leader material for me, not reel fill. If Tatsu is out of your budget, you're going to do well with InvisX, up to 8 lb. size on spinning. I generally use 6 lb., and it's very durable, reliable, knots hold well, and it's easy to manage on spinning gear. 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 22, 2016 Super User Posted December 22, 2016 InvizX for spinning (#6) AbrazX for baitcasting (#12) Red Label for leader 3 Quote
Robert Riley Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 I use all three. I use Invizx for my spinning gear and my jerkbaits. Abraxas in 15 for flipping. Red Label for everything else. 1 Quote
Helpingverbs Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 I have two spools of Red Label and found that If I just grab the end of the line off the spool it does not take much for it to snap. Now I wont use them and wasted my money. Berkely 100% flouro I could not snap..it seems to have a little leeway or stretch in it. Now this is all I will use. Quote
cottny27 Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 I like them all. Light cranking RL does just fine for me in 10# and casts like a dream. Abrabx handles great too in 12-15 in the logs n sticks. All treated with line conditioner. I change the line out before every Spring and probably only fish 15 times per year so it's still fresh, but I swap it out anyway. I bought some cheap Sunline Super fluoro and it was garbage. I think it not near what RL is. Quote

Super User Angry John Posted December 23, 2016 Super User Posted December 23, 2016 Red is the cheap mans handy flouro, it works ok and gets the job done. I have not fished all the flouro out there but if cost is a major factor p-line 100% is the best deal for the performance i have found. I use it in 6lb mostly and swap between it and sniper. Abraze-x works good on baitcast reels and i have confidence in it but go to braid with leader for heavier work. Quote
SFL BassHunter Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 I've used red label, but as a leader. It is a good line, but if I am going to spool up a reel it will be with invizx. I haven't use abrazx so can't speak to that. Invizx is strong, limp, very manageable, low stretch, low memory. It gets the job done for me. If you don't want to spend that much, red label will work too, but I don't find it to be as strong. I also don't know how manageable it is on the reel. Just my 2 cents. Quote
OnthePotomac Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 I use InvizX 15lb, which is only .013 in diameter and Gander's flouro 12lb for instance is .013, so it is really thin flouro. Quote
junyer357 Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 I prefer abrazx on cranks and invisx for wire baits except buzzbaits. The abrazx just seems to hold up better on rocks for me when cranking. For worms and jigs i step up to sunline shooter, sniper, or tatsu. Its worth the costs to me for contact baits. For leaders i used to use end of spools on my other flouro, but now i exclusively use actual leader material, seaguar blue label.its simply stiffer, tougher, and better for leaders. Quote
Attila Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 I've been using InvizX for a couple of years now with no issues at all, including fishing it in and around docks, rocks, and timber while landing some decent sized musky. I tried AbrazX but I just found it had too much memory for my liking. I grew up fishing straight mono and as a result I feel more comfortable with InvizX due to its mono like characteristics. Quote
OnthePotomac Posted December 26, 2016 Posted December 26, 2016 The best deal on InvizX is Amazon. I paid $85 for a 15lb 1000yd spool. You have to watch though as the price will fluctuate. Quote

ccsewaneebasser Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 Just now saw this and I know it's kinda late, but here are my thoughts. I've since moved from mono to fluoro on a lot of my presentations. If anyone here also uses Trilene let me know if this makes sense it terms of a comparison. Invisx - Like Trilene XL, use it mostly for spinning tackle/ned rigs or when I want to make long casts in fairly open water with jerkbaits. Red Label - Like Big Game, My all purpose moving bait line, cranks, spinnerbaits, bladed jigs etc. Abrasx - Like XT. Heavy cover, flipping, football jigs around rocks. Sometimes I'll use it as a leader for c-rigs. Does that make sense to anyone? 1 Quote
Spider Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 I have used all three, and find red label to be ok entry level, main line. AbrazX has good abrasion strength but is a bit wiry for my taste. InvizX is way too stretchy, I feel. InvizX also has broken on me too often "I fish a lot of rock" and I have lost confidence in it. Also InvezX doesn't seem to like the Palomar knot, no matter how careful you tie it. The SDJam Knot worked better. I did not have these issues with Red Label. It feels like good mid level line, with good abrasion resistance and thin diameter. Quote
NorthForNigthts Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 I know this is an old thread, but I use all three as well almost exclusively when it comes to fluoro. Red Label is more than good enough for everyday fishing. Very good for the price. I use AbrazX for when I'm doing competitive fishing - tournaments, online challenges, etc, or when I'm using an expensive swimbait in a lake I know has lots of muskie or pike. It's great for me, but I could see it not being for everyone. It's very stiff, and tough to tie in large sizes. Never use too much on your spool. I once tied a really long leader (10 yards or so) and after a day of fishing it actually cut through the 50lb braid on the spool beneath it. Dad uses InvizX, because he's a big spinning guy. It really does feel like mono as others have claimed. Super soft. Makes me question if you could just get away with real mono for half the price. Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted July 16, 2019 Super User Posted July 16, 2019 I use Invizx, Abrazx, and Finesse Fluoro. I like then all for different applications. I don’t use any other brand. Quote
